Michael Bay has also been quite successful, making hundreds of millions of dollars. That doesn't mean he produces a quiality product. His movies, like the music resulting from the Idol conveyor belt, are entertaining but ultimately forgettable. That's because Idol is in the business of manufacturing pop stars. That sort of music is on par with payola as far as integrity goes. It's really no different than the Monkeys or Menudo. They're just patronizing those who watch the show. The producers assume you're all idiots who will buy whatever they sell you. Unfortunately they're usually right.

Carrie Underwood won Grammys? Doesn't surprise me. There's a reason it's called the Grannys. The selections are sappy and safe.

Don't get me started on Jennifer Hudson. She did a fine acting job and she is capable of singing, but if you look at past Best Supporting Acress winners you'll see it's a throw-away award.
