So when would II be released? 2027? Seems like a long time to wait for cool packaging with the same disc.

IV would be released in 2026. Another long wait.

And then you have 50th anniversaries coming, staring in 2029.

Maybe in 2026 they can fudge the anniversary dates by claiming "the 60th anniversary of the Star Trek franchise" as a whole.

Indeed; I think this is the first standalone release of the TMP theatrical on UHD, so there is that. And the cover is a very nice rendering of the original original poster art (not the DVD recreation of it).

But as Geoff pointed out, the theatrical/SLV disc from the Complete Adventure set is better encoded and has the proper subtitle font, so I'm definitely hanging on to that.

Sorry which release has the original art I have only seen versions with the 2001 redo.

Edit:Nevermind just went back a page.

Geoff do you think they will recode it?

Also hope there is a UK release.

They already did, for the SLV disc I mean, so no, it'll be the same theatrical disc as before. Not a bad thing.

Surely they will take this opportunity to fix the weirdly botched bit near the end of the leaving drydock sequence, introduced with the 2021 theatrical-version Blu? Please?

It's already weird since Star Trek III is the advance poster and The Motion Picture is the release poster.

I've lost track of how many copies of this movie I already own, between different versions and formats.

But there's always room for one more!

So the Theatrical Cut now has a new Atmos track apparently?

Was hoping this would have SLV, could have at least had the DC and TC on UHD, the Blu rays are useless most people have them from the sets, guess they are too greedy to keep selling the current DC disc. Will pass but the Steelbook looks nice.

I haven't seen any image with the clarity to see if the logo is on the disc but let's be real, the odds of an upgraded disc about a thousand to one.

Agreed. This release is for folks who want the TC on UHD without buying a 4 or 6 movie box set and folks who just can't resist a Trek SteelBook -- but they lost a ton of sales from those who want the SLV but are never going to pay $70 for the "complete" set. I mean, the perfect disc for this release exists already!! Crazy.

Oh, you’ll get no argument from me there; just hazarding a guess where the guy may have gotten his theory from.

Amazon product page has Atmos listed too. That's why the user brought it up.

The disc has the Dolby Logo because it has Dolby TrueHD 7.1
So I can use Neural X and turn those into heights then.
