Star Trek The Motion Picture Director's Edition 4K UHD/DLX (1979)

I'm trying to remember how I got this before the dlx version as I didnt buy 1-4 or 1-6. I then remembered someone sold the 4k separately, so I bought that along with the remastered Theatrical Blu Ray with slip and put them both on the same box.

The I bought the Dlx set and now I will buy the steelbook as well.

They wonder why this sells, the result of using classic artwork. I wouldn't have rebought if looked like the Disney range god forbid.

Have preordered from Amazon US but hope they do a UK version so I can cancel and buy that instead.

I'm buying this strictly for the packaging. I own so many different versions and releases of TMP that I've lost count.

I'm going to put the TC/SLV Combo disc in it and sell the "TC only" disc as well as the code.
A sweet case to hold the rarest TMP disc.

You need to be careful as only the US and U.K. sets actually included the SLV disc, eBay seems to have plenty of German, French and Dutch sets which do not include it despite being advertised on the packaging.

Might do this myself, that deluxe TMP packaging sucks so bad

Actually, that's a great idea. Think I might to that myself. That SLV might be my favorite version of the movie.

They should have had a fat extra limited super edition that was the Enterprise, and the discs were stored in the saucer section. You'd have to pop open the saucer to get the discs. Better than the weirdly shaped flimsy box... the weirdly shaped BLUE flimsy box.

I bought a loose TC UHD for $5 when the second six film set came out. Probably could give these things out in a Happy Meal at this point.

I've literally got a spare theatrical UHD and Blu at this point (after buying the 1-4 UHD set and then the 5-disc DE/SLV set) so I've no need for yet another copy. That said, the steel doesn't have an acetate slip like STIII's, or a poster, if this was at the same level of tat as that then I'd prolly have bought it anyway.
