Funnily enough I remember (off of the top of my head) describing at least two movies I watched over the Halloween period as 'films you could leave silently on a projector in the background of a halloween party'

What I tended to do however, was download a number of old school horror trailers, the schlockier the better, edit them all together into a 2 hour or so loop and let them play.

Ya one year there was a 'Top 100 Horror Movies' or something similar on Shudder?? And I just ran it in the background. Doing something like that is always a good option as well.
