The E has horrible stress points from the top. You CAN hang it from a ceiling, so long as you avoid the warp engine struts. That leaves the secondary hull and MAYBE the dorsal connecting the two hulls. Obviously, it's been done (Smithsonian), but you can't do it blind.

The novelization of the first movie, written by Gene Roddenberry, is on sale for $1.99 via the Kindle Store, and I'm sure other ebook services

I couldn’t resist at that price. Unfortunately I lost my first edition copy in 2008. It will be nice to read it again for the first time in decades.

Kind of a wild read at times. Roddenberry was apparently a bit of a horndog. (Yes Roddenberry actually wrote the novelization… it was not ghostwritten by Alan Dean Foster, as rumoured.)

I just bought it myself. I've never read it. I notice most of the other novelizations are also reduced to $1.99 (plus some others like Into Darkness), so I might pick up one or more of the others now too.

The Star Trek V novelization is a huge upgrade and fills in tones of holes from the screenplay.

The Star Trek III novelization doesn't get to the movie until chapter 8, I think.

I finally tried to get the UK version of the complete adventure box recently to have both 4k and standard versions of the SLV, only to recieve the German version. No big deal, I thought, until I found out the German version doesn’t have the SLV at all. Boy I feel illogical now.

Well that’s too bad, but regardless, the German release doesn’t even have the SLV on the 4K disc.

I think you mean "included the Longer TV version" -- since this IS the Theatrical version and I wish the same thing.

It would be great to have all three versions in this steelbook even if it were priced higher. But it does look nice...

SteelBook ordered.

I have a strong suspicion that the "marketing materials booklet" is just going to be the same images featured in the Big Flimsy Box Complete Sucker's Edition, but at least it should be easier to access from the SteelBook.

Now to spend a month hoping it arrives undamaged...

Maybe or just Paramount UK won't announce until beginning of November.

It's probably delay in pressing discs or something meaning we won't get it to the new year.

I have pre ordered the US one, its just a gamble getting a steelbook from Amazon US and arriving to the UK in one piece. Oh well we will find out soon enough.

I wonder if it would have done better with the original or first artwork like it has on the regular release...which I prefer myself.
