Hopefully these eventually get Blu-ray and/or DVD releases.

Junebug (2024)

Hallmark's The Kid

In the tradition of Disney's The Kid - with a dash of Say Anything, which the characters oddly treat as an obscure movie - comes Hallmark's Junebug.

Juniper (Autumn Reeser) is a bored and frustrated book editor with a boring and frustrating boyfriend (Chenier Hundal). What she really wants to do is become a writer. She just needs a reminder from her 8-year-old self, Junebug (played delightfully by Mila Jones), who magically appears to her. Junebug is not happy with all of the ways Juniper has compromised "their" dreams and says so with the blunt directness that could only come from an outspoken 2nd grader in short pink overalls.

With the help of Junebug and a brokenhearted muralist who refuses to sign his own art anymore (Aaron O'Connell), will Juniper finally remember who she used to be and still could be? This is Hallmark, not Lifetime, so you already know the answer to that.

DaBargainHunta's Decree: Junebug is a lovely fantasy about second chances with a nice message that it's never too late to rediscover your inner child. In many ways, we were wiser when we were 8.

My Dreams of You (2024)

Is My Dreams of You really a Hallmark movie or did they just buy the rights to it? Nothing against Hallmark - I adore the channel - but this seems so wholly original and outside the box for them.

Grace (Skyler Samuels) keeps dreaming about a man she's never met. All she knows is his first name, which is Michael (Kapil Talwalkar). As it turns out, a celestial organization called Dream Central has been weaving him into her dreams. However, when Grace and Michael finally do meet in real life, he has no idea who she is because she hasn't appeared in his dreams like he's appeared in hers. There's been a clerical error, and it's up to two dream-weavers (Cecilia Lee and David Rosser) to course-correct.

There are shades of The Adjustment Bureau here, and I'm reminded slightly of A Matter of Life and Death too, but this has its own unique concept and presentation.

DaBargainHunta's Decree: My Dreams of You honestly could have succeeded as a theatrical release and become a surprise hit. It's that ambitious and refreshing.

USA His & Hers and Signed, Sealed, Delivered

Reading fellow members' posts on here aside, I also check website Cinemablend to find out about new Hallmark TV films coming up on US TV. Don't know about this coming Sunday night, but premiering on Saturday night on Hallmark is His & Hers (the cast iincluding Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott). And premiering a week tomorrow (Friday, September 13th) is a sequel to The Cases of Mystery Lane, called Death is Listening.

In a few weeks time, premiering on Hallmark in the States are TV films Autumn at Apple Hill and Haunted Wedding.

*****

Deep Discount have currently got a TV boxsets sale on (10% off two in-stock items and 15% off three in-stock items). I checked to see if Hallmark's US Blu-ray set of Signed, Sealed, Delivered's one season was one of the titles in the offer (sadly not).

$5.49 on Amazon

$6.49

Note: CamelCamelCamel.com says it's been $1 cheaper in the past.

No idea if they're any good though.

USA Hallmark TV films premiering on US TV

Have read confirmation on the "Hallmark Mystery" Facebook page of when the new Hannah Swensen Mysteries TV film is premiering on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, and also about a new Curious Caterer Mysteries TV film:

A Sprinkle of Deceit: A Hannah Swensen Mystery (the fifth in the series (the tenth if you include Murder, She Baked), premiering on Friday, October 4th)

Curious Caterer: Forbidden Fruit (premiering on Friday, October 11th).

*****

Secondly, the list of Hallmark's new Countdown to Christmas season of Christmas TV films was posted on the "Hallmark Channel" Facebook page a few days ago.

Digital HD too, which isn't the same as owning a disc, but at least the option exists.

Not ideal for everybody, but I appreciate being able to own a HD copy of some sort.

Agreed, but Hallmark probably thinks its majority grandma audience considers DVDs "good enough." It is what it is.

Better than nothing, but they could do Echo Bridge/Mill Creek style blu-ray bundles with popular titles. lol

Have read on the "Hallmark Channel" Facebook page tonight that new Hallmark TV film Autumn at Apple Hill is premiering in the States this coming Saturday night (like the sound of this one (about an historic inn).

Probably off topic, but I watched these kinds of movies a lot on Lifetime growing up. As a little kid after school, we pretty much exclusively watched family type movies, soap operas, lots and lots of game shows and even the ones on Lifetime like Supermarket Sweep and Shop Till You Drop with older relatives. I didn't realize there was a Hallmark Channel until probably the early 2010s. Also loved watching the original 1960s Batman series as a little kid on The Family Channel.

USA Haunted Wedding, Aurora Teagarden prequel TV films and Christmas TV film season

Haunted Wedding premiered on Hallmark in the States last Saturday (October 12th). I've seen Janel Parrish in one Hallmark TV film to date, Coyote Creek Christmas (know them best from playing Mona in Pretty Little Liars).

I had read a few weeks ago on the web about some new TV films in a Hallmark series premiering on Hallmark+, but it wasn't this one I found out about last week. Found out that two new Aurora Teagarden prequel TV films have been made and were premiering on Hallmark+ on Thursday, October 3rd and 10th respectively (A Lesson in Murder and Death at the Diner).

The Countdown to Christmas season starts on Hallmark in the States this coming Friday (October 18th). I don't know if it's been shown over here yet, but I hope Mystery on Mistletoe Lane is shown as I think this was the TV film I heard about recently when reading about the new Hannah Swensen Mysteries TV film (Victor Webster starring in both).

Agreed. My mind is in early fall/autumn mode at the moment (and Hallowe'en is still half a month away).

In a month's time maybe I'll start getting into Christmas mode.

If you've watched this already, how does it stack up against other Hallmark Christmas movies, particularly those available on Blu-ray?

I'm considering buying a Hallmark Christmas movie on Blu-ray and wanted to know which one(s) would be a great, representative example of Hallmark Christmas. This site's review gives the movie itself a 4.0/5. Unfortunately, there's only one other title that's reviewed (You, Me & The Christmas Trees), so it's hard to know how the other ones are.

I'll watch it in December, closer to Christmas.

I also bought this before Halloween. Of course, it dropped from $5 (what I paid) to $4 (which is still the price) right after. Not worth jumping through hoops and dealing with Amazon's abysmal "customer service" for only $1. Ditto for doing a return and replace.

Off-topic for this thread, but Mercy is very good, in case anyone was wondering.

OP updated!

2024 Blu-ray releases

Both of these still need to be added to the Blu-ray.com database.

I am a bit worried that they say "Blu-ray disc" on top instead of showing the Blu-ray logo, which is usually a sign that these are MOD BD-R discs and not professionally pressed.

Special thanks to OceanBlue

Note: I also updated the OP with the most current streaming options for Hallmark.
