I've watched this whole show since it released with each season. It is insanely good. It doesn't talk down to you. But also doesn't dumb itself down either. It has complex drama that grabs your attention that doesn't overcomplicate itself. It uses the medium so well. The thing I can praise about it so much is the consistency.
I can't imagine the undertaking the creators had with to bring so much development to payoff. It never feels stagnant at all. It's a finality that feels earned and seasoned. It's not rushed but a relief to have something like this. Not many cartoons have that. It's hard enough as a show in general but in the format of animation... it's even rarer in the West. Way to go, Voltron. |

I think they ended it where it needed to. The balls on them to do that. And it worked. To have an actual story arcing across that mattered and had consequences and successes. Again... I know the names of some of the creative but goddamn. They pulled a lot quality together.

Guess I’m the only one who found the series just average. I much prefer the original. The series got more and more mystical, especially the final season and I often lost track of what was happening because for man series they wasted half the shows on episodes that had nothing to do with the overall series plot and he seasons were released far apart. I’m still adjusting to the fact of how Shiro lost his spirit and got it back and how the original team didn’t die and how Zarkon went from nice guy to bad guy and how the earth ship could become a robot and what those black floating things were in the people. So much with so little explanation. It was like they threw darts at Voltron pictures on the wall and wanted to see what stuck. So overall, it was so so though I appreciated the call backs in the final season to the original season and even to the vehicles with the cars.

The series will leave Netflix on December 7th, so you have until the end of December 6th to watch the series in it's entirety, before it disappears. There is no information about the final chunk of the series being released on DVD, to allow for a complete series DVD collection, so this is your only chance to watch the whole thing in the best quality, unless it gets a complete series Blu-Ray release.

I'd love a BD set of it though. Loved this show. |
