I've watched this movie last weekend. I am probably the only Person in the World who didn't like Part 1, but this Sequel was incredible. Simple but intense and without any Pause, just full Throttle. The Story was simple but it reminds me a bit of The Terminator. The Kid who needed Protection because it is hunted by an unstoppable Force.
Elisabeth Olson was a great villian, her Look in her eyes, you can feel every second of Scarlet Witchs Pain.
The CGI was very good, with nice Jump Scares and very nices Kills. For me it was way better than Part 1

Doctor Strange 1 was terrible. You're not alone. 2 is much better, but...

Doctor Strange as a character doesn't work very well leading a movie. He's just not interesting enough. So having the more interesting villain in 2 worked better.

It's the strength of the story and direction that counts not the character.

Another movie that was more profitable than the internet expected!

As a part of the return of Deadline's Most Valuable Blockbuster tournament, it was revealed Monday that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was one of the year's most profitable films. According to the trade, it's expected the highly anticipated Sam Raimi picture ended up making around $284 million for Disney. That sum took the film's $955.7 million box office gross, factored in Disney's share of the box office, and combined it with home entertainment and streaming sales to reach total revenues of $780 million.

Disney has revealed that last year's blockbuster Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness cost $94.5 million more to make than the movie's $200 million estimated production budget.

As with all UK companies, its financial statements are released in stages long after the period they relate to. The latest set was released earlier this week and covers the year to May 8, 2022 which was two days after Doctor Strange 2 was released. During the year, $135.3 million (£106.5 million) was spent on making the movie with the majority of it going on post-production. When this is combined with the $213.7 million that had already been incurred during pre-production and filming it gives the movie total costs of $349 million.

It was reimbursed a total of $54.5 million (£42.9 million) bringing the net production cost of the picture to $294.5 million.

You mean a week ago. They also reported back in April that the last two Jurassic World movies cost a combined total of $845 Million. Let's not even bring up the budgets on the Star Wars sequel trilogy.

I have to wonder how this is even sustainable? Budgets have been blowing up way before the pandemic, but that just brought more attention to them.
In hindsight, there's no way movies like No Way Home and The Flash cost only $200M.

Marvel, you have seen a hard R movie blow up at the box office. Let Doctor Strange be what it was always supposed to be, a horror movie. A Lovecraftian horror movie.
