Ooooh, I recently bought The Departed Steelbook from a local Half-Priced Books Store for $5.98 and became amazed with steelbooks. I now want more! I will for sure go to Best Buy and pre-order this if this is truely a Steelbook and not some sleeve. Plus I already own the previous DVD and can get the $10 off coupon and if we find out that some store/website is selling it cheaper than Best Buy's price we can get them to price match! I'm even more excited for this now.

Theres no blu-ray banner, so its def not the one futureshop is supposed to get. Also Ian, the guy at FS media office said no more DVD steels, only blu-ray, so I wonder what this is then at bestbuy USA. Since diamond editions come with the DVD, could it be that if you buy the DVD edition you get the Steelbook, if you buy the Blu-ray edition, the included DVD is the steelbook, and the Blu is the regular?

The DVD only edition doesn't come out for six or seven weeks after the Blu-ray version is released, so I don't think this is the case.

I am intrigued and I am going to preorder it so I can get a copy of this. If it ain't a real SteelBook which I doubt because I don't think Best Buy wants to get sued. If it's free it's all good no harm no foul.

Well, if you take a close look at the add you see that they are using the word STEELBOOK as a trademark since they have also printed the "™" symbol with it. Since the only mark for STEELBOOK is registered by Glud & Marstrand in Denmark then I'm with others that this will indeed be an actual SteelBook with the only question being whether it will be DVD or Blu-ray size. My hope is that each version (DVD and BD) will get packaged with its corresponding steel and packaged the same way that the Spirit steel was packaged.

I was mentioning it as a best-case scenario in terms of getting an actual BD sized steelbook rather than a one-size fits all steelbook (more likely to be DVD size since they will probably sell more DVDs than BDs for this one). I doubt that this offer is for a full package where the disc comes inside the steelbook. I think the Spirit format is the more likely scenario IMO.

P.S. I don't know, but it seems to me that if you don't open your Steelbooks then you are collecting cases

The Watchmen SB have no blue ribbon printed on the SB.
I really like the ribbon free Steelbook.

No I know watchmen doesn't have it, but when I emailed Ian (futureshop) he said snow white would have it, sorry that's what I meant my post to mean. So it appears that what we will get in Canada is different than this, least thus far.
