Since you're the first to point that out you have to buy everyone here one of these beauties. Actually you don't have to buy one for those who bought the Sammy, they had no patience so screw 'em!

why does it say this "The DMPBD10 is the only Blu-ray Disc player capable of decoding Dolby Digital Plus" I thought the Sony can too.

Talking Decisions, decisions . . .

This is incredible news guys!

I have been holding out for the Sony BDP-S1. After some research I started leaning towards the PS3 since it comes out around the same time. Then again I thought "That Pioneer Elite is also tempting." And now this comes out early!

We will soon have several good choices on the table for all of us.

One of my best ever DVD players was a Panasonic (RP-56). Hmmm. I'll have to think really hard about this. The specs and description on Panasonic's site look very good.

Whatever I decide, I hope this is a gem of a player.

According to the Panasonic owner's manual, it either passes Dolby Digital (legacy, not Plus) bitstream to a receiver or outputs 2-ch. PCM only.

And according to its specs, the Samsung apparently supports DD+, as well.

It even plays regular Cds!

I think I'll trash the Region code problem and just get the American version of this

LOL! Yesterday I almost posted that the first Panasonic reviews would likely come from Amir (just as with the Samsung). But I thought, surely he wouldn't do such an inflammatory thing again against his competition.

He wrote at AVS:

Quote:
"We have a couple on order and of course, have the Samung."
They should start him up a dedicated thread where he can post objective reviews of Ipods too. You know... just so potential Xune buyers can have all the facts at their disposal.. ROFLMAOPIMP.

Hey, this could catch on! Bill Ford could get a blog and review Toyota trucks.

Excellent.

These kinds of things rolling out such as new players and BD50 support through to the end of the year will serve to make the Amir brigade look foolish.

Plus it is great for us that we are getting more choices in players.

I really look forward to the comparisons with bad NR and good NR Samsung units.

Argh. Seeing people order it via saturday delivery from Crutchfield is driving me insane. Me wants. I wish Best Buy had it since I've got plenty of credit to use there.

That's a plus. The entire relationship between the two companies just seems odd and ill-defined to a casual observer. I'm not sure I should be allowed in the recently completed Magnolia here in Marlborough tho. I saw the Mits 73" set they had and I've wanted it ever since.
