Mine got here in a flimsy bag instead of a box. There's a small dent in the front. I don't know if I should just deal with it or ask for a replacement. I haven't taken the plastic off, so I don't know if there are any more imperfections beyond this.

Certainly annoying, but hard to say if an exchange is worth it, considering how tiny that ding is. I don't know if I have ANY perfect steelbooks, if I were to actually go over them all with a fine tooth comb. It doesn't take much to get a scratch, ding or tiny nick. You could end up exchanging those things in perpetuity.

Ugh. I'm sorry. Where did you end up getting it from?

Amazon. Shipped from FedEx. It was in a brown bag that looked like this:

I don't know if the dent happened in-transit or if it was already there before it shipped. Its hard to tell since its small.

Yeah, you're right. I hate that the smallest dings and dents can annoy the heck out of me. If it wasn't right on the side but like on the back (where it'd be less noticeable), then I'd be less annoyed. Maybe I could try to find some way to fix it without returning it with the possibility of getting a worse copy. Like I mentioned above, there's no telling if it was dented before it was even shipped. It could've been (since its a thing that can just happen.)

Regarding the blu-ray that comes with the 4k steelbook on this release:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Sleep...lu-ray/366641/

Is it just incorrect listing here indicating it's a BD-50, and its still just the ole BD-25 disc from 2006?

Yes, I do see this question asked/answered earlier, but those are all before this release that just came out on 10/8/24.

That looks like the brand new steelbook I was asking about above. As you have it, are you able to confirm if the blu-ray is just the old 2006 disc again, or is it remastered? The listing for that steelbook here on br.com has it including a BD-50, but that may be incorrect.

Just looking at the print on the disc, I guess that it is the same as last time, and the answer is the same as last time

Ask for a replacement or a partial discount for accepting the damage. You spent your hard earned money on this and deserve an new, clean, undamaged copy.

Yes, disappointingly it does look to be.

EDIT: recieved this steelbook from Target and confirmed the included blu-ray is the old mpeg2 encoded BD-25 disc. Lazy, Paramount!

I do not like how Paramount Pictures is releasing movies on the 4K Blu-ray format, once again they did not use a BD-100 disc for a movie and instead used a BD-66 disc with no extra features on the BD-66 disc, not even the audio commentary was placed on the BD-66 disc. One has to insert the enclosed 2K Blu-ray disc to hear the audio commentary track, when at the bare minimum audio commentary tracks should always be ported over to the 4K Blu-ray format. Lionsgate studios and Universal Studios do much better job releasing movies on the 4K Blu-ray format with most the time all the extras on the BD-100 disc.

Sleepy Hollow is a classic R rated fictional horror movie that has many supernatural events that occur in the movie. Sleepy Hollow was rated R for “Graphic Horror Violence and Gore and for a scene of sexuality.” Sleepy Hollow had a budget of $100 million dollars and box office sells of around $207.1 million dollars. A profitable movie. Sleepy Hollow was released on the 4K Blu-ray format on 9-5-2023 in different packaging styles, however Paramount Pictures decided to re-release Sleepy Hollow in a 25th Anniversary Steelbook edition on 10-8-2024 using the exact same optical discs from the 9-5-2023 release. I was not aware of the release back in 9-5-2023, and therefore purchased the 10-8-2024 release that uses the same exact discs.

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Sleep...6641/#Overview

A total of 58.3GB of space is used out of 66GB on the dual layer BD-66 disc. A total of 22.4GB of space is used out of 25GB on the single layer BD-25 disc. Once again, I was upset that Paramount Pictures did not use a BD-100 disc to place all the extra features on the 4K Blu-ray disc, but instead used a BD-66 disc with no extra features. At the very minimum studios need to port over the audio commentary track to the 4K Blu-ray disc. 100% of all the extra features are on the 2K Blu-ray disc that is a BD-25. The legacy MPEG-2 codec at (2K) 1080P is used for the audio commentary track and various other extra features. Some of the extra features use MPEG-2 at 480i quality. The Sleepy Hollow movie is in Dolby Vision HDR with native 4K and lossless 5.1 DTS-HD Master audio. The 4K Blu-ray disc which is a BD-66 played back perfectly fine on my year 2016 OPPO UDP-203 4K Blu-ray player. Because of limitations of my display that native 4K Blu-ray disc with Dolby Vision HDR was downscaled to 2K SDR quality.

Paramount's compression is bad regardless of disc size. Disney managed to put a 3 hour film on a 66GB disc without overtly pronounced compression artifacts.

Got my steelbook yesterday. In great shape so thats good. Hadnt watched this in like forever so last night I gave it a spin.

The transfer is pretty good, IMO. Blacks are solid mostly and it doesnt look overly processed to me. 83" Sony OLED is my display. Terrific atmosphere and production values.

The movie is good but not great. Glad I own it and it will be a staple Halloween-time viewing. Happy we are getting more and more 4K titles like this.

Sorry to ask this here:

Does the standalone UK 1080p BD version have the newer transfer?

Thank you

The Blu-ray that comes with the 4K set is NOT the new scan, it is the old Blu-ray from 10+ years ago

The new 4K master is not present on ANY BD, only the UHD disc.
