All you blind-buyers should rent first.

This was the worst movie I saw this summer...and also the biggest disappointment. I can't put into words how badly it sucked in comparison to the other 3.

Not even an R-rated cut could help it.

I thought it was better than T3 and miles above Transformers 2.

Same for me (on both counts). I'd say renting is unquestionably a safe bet, but a good many blind buyers will probably end up loving it too

when anyone says that a mcg film is actually good.....they lose all credibility. i still can't believe with his name attached to this film, people thought this movie was going to be good. it tanked at the box office for a reason. i think uwe bol could've made it better. j/k.

It didn't tank at the box office at all...Including international markets, it made about 370 million. Far from tanking.

+1
And I had really high hopes considering how highly I regard the previous 3 installments. The whole movie just felt empty and flat, save for Sam Worthington.

Agreed, if you are blind buying be very careful with this one, it's nothing like the first 3 and almost feels like a piece of fan fiction. It does have some nice action in it, but its noting special and the story is not very interesting. The whole time i found myself saying "This isn't something that would happen in the terminator future world of the first 2 films". And while i do understand its a new director, at least the third movie felt like it was in the same world as the first 2 (although a campier version of that world), this one feels like it branches off from the TV show or some kind of fan fiction novel

I don't know if it was the worst movie i saw all summer (angels and demons was pretty bad) but if i had to describe it in one word it would be "Forgettable" , honestly even a day after seeing it the only part that stood out in my mind was the CGI Arnie cameo, the rest was just kind of lost in a haze of sub standard sci fi action

Depending on what the director's cut add in or takes out I may purchase this when its on sale but for for a completists sake and not because the movie was overly great

If WB wants to sell copies I suggest a commentary with Chistian Bale where he just spends the film yelling about how the lighting isn't professional...I'd Buy that in a second

I liked Terminator Salvation. It was good, not great. Much more enjoyable than T3 ever was.

I'm glad it didn't feel like the others. How many time travel stories do we need? We don't need another Terminator movie set in modern day.

If it is just two added scenes, I don't think they will improve TS that much, if at all. Nude scenes are always welcome lol

day one purchase for me

I was somewhat let down by this, but I think I was just sucked up too much with the hype. After I saw it, I didn't think it was as great as I was expecting. Hopefully, a Director's Cut can fix that.

Well you should Probabaly prepare yourself for Terminator 5, Either because it was the orginal plot outline or more likley because Slavation wasn't a box office hit and the studio figures they need to return to what worked the first 3 times, McG has stated that T5 will involve John connor going back to 2011 to prevent or find something...and odds are a terminator will follow him through and we'll see a reapeat of the chase element of 1-3

The only good part to this idea is that they want to get Robert Patrick back in as a scientist, so we might get some backstory or info on the creation of the T1000 we saw in T2, although McG will probabaly "Jango fett" the character and Fanboys everywhere will cry, lol

I thoroughly enjoyed this film. I believe it was the first film I saw thie summer (or could it have been Star Trek?... I don't remember). It was a really enjoyable experience. Better than the experience I had with Transformers 2, and it certainly blows T3 out of the water.

I'm really glad they made this movie. I probably would have chosen a different director, but he did a good job. I will say that the only qualm I had with the movie was that it seemed like some of the major scenes that were shown in the trailer were just flat out awkward when in the context of the movie. and directly made for the purpose of putting them in the trailer. Did anybody else get this?

I'll own this on Blu ray the only Terminator film I don't own on Blu ray is T3 do to the fact it's not as good as the others and there is no uncompressed or lossless option!

I thought it was fantastic. Totally different than the others, and fantastic.

This is great news. It isn't Terminator without a screwdriver stab and a sex scene.

I liked the film and will definitely get the longer director's cut that should have been released to theaters to start with.

Just as long as they don't use the original ending, which just about caused a fanboy revolt (the original ending had John Connor being turned into a Terminator).

I doubt that ending was ever even shot. AFAIK, it was from an earlier version of the script.
