Shout! Factory still seems to be willing to license out films from their Westchester library. Criterion's release of History Is Made At Night and some Classicflix releases such as A Night In Casablanca list Shout! Factory as the copyright owner on the back of the case. And as far as I'm aware none of Criterion's prior releases from that library have gone out of print (other examples To Be or Not To Be and Foreign Corespondent).

So if it were to get a 4K release/restoration, it would be Shout's decision on if they'd release it themselves or license out to Criterion again, right?

I can't tell from the screencaps from the AGFA site if it is better than the current Criterion, but I assume so since the AGFA took part in the restoration that was screened earlier this year.

Not necessarily. If Criterion has the exclusive license for the general home video distribution of I Married a Witch, and not just DVD and Blu-ray, than the decision would be out of Shout's hands.

Thank you for clearing it up for me. I know its probably a long shot for this title but I hope it eventually gets a 4K release in the future. I could say that about a good number of Veronica Lake and Fredric March films, but this one is one of my absolute favorite of theirs.

Watched this as a blind buy recommendation from a friend. Man...Veronica Lake totally bewitched me. That was one of the most charming and likable roles I've been in a long time. I would have been sold from the very beginning.

Not a great movie but some innovative filming techniques, well acted and fun movie. It's all about Veronica though. Definitely a prototype to Bewitched.
