Having a hell of a time getting into the Halloween spirit this year..

As I right this, I've spent the morning sipping my coffee in shorts and a T shirt waiting for my wife to come home and take me the pub this afternoon so I can spend the rest of the day tossing back pints on the patio...i guess there are winners and losers in the climate change lottery..lol...

I had plans to be hunkered down in the dadcave watching the new UHD of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET... but not going to lie... looks both ways to ensure kids are not listening... this is better

I'm staycationing this week, so catching up on movies, music, and some reading. Have a new shelving unit coming in today, so will be putting that together, as well.

Pretty incredible that Seinfeld gets a 4k release.

There's been a lot of stuff over the past year or two, that I've been really excited to see get better releases. There have been a lot of good releases that I've wanted from Paramount, Warner Bros, Criterion, Kino Lorber, Sony. I never imagined that Monk/Psych would get good blu-ray sets.

I do wish some western animation got a little more love, and I'd love to see some blu-rays of Amphibia, Owl House, stuff like that. There's still a handful of things from Disney/Fox. And there's a few things from Netflix, that I'm not holding my breath about. But there's been a lot of surprises.

I'm hoping next year is as good as this one has been for me.

On a slightly different topic, this has been a strange experience for me. I've gotten a lot more interested in physical media, picture quality discussions, I am following discussions on certain distributors like Criterion, Warner Archive, Kino Lorber. I didn't even know who any of those were like a year ago.

And now I've got a large custom movie shelf I built with my dad.

A lot of experiences that I wouldn't be able to have without physical media. And a lot of experiences I don't think I would have imagined ever having even a year ago (maybe two years ago is more accurate).

I saw it is getting a Blu-ray release too but $149.99, I don't think so. That show is pretty old, I've seen a lot of those already. I might pay $75 for it but not $150. That's just downright greed imo.

And is there no way they can cut it down to being like 10 discs (1 per season rather than multiple discs per season)?

They'd have to put 9-10 hours on each disc to pull that off. There are 180 episodes of Seinfeld.

I'm not aware of any blu-rays that are that packed.
Although I suppose The New Scooby-Doo Movies are pretty close.

Halloween day and yet another morning of sitting out in my backyard in shorts and a T shirt...

I am a little more in the seasonal mood though after having caught THE SUBSTANCE in the wee hours on streaming...
What a movie... so glad I was able to avoid all spoilers on this before seeing it! All I'll say is that, despite it being on PRIME, it looked and sounded awesome! The disc should be demo worthy when it comes out.

It shoots up to my second favourite of the year behind STRANGE DARLING despite having far more rewatch potential in the coming years... if that makes any sense...lol..

I had to see it on release day and I really enjoyed it. I will buy it on Disc as soon as it's available.

Happy Halloween everyone ... I'm debating what halloween movie to watch tonight. I did was Immaculate on Kanopy earlier but In my opinion it wasn't good. I would watch Trick or Treat but my copy will arrive next week on UHD.

Anyway, ... We never get trick or treaters sadly but I have plenty of Reeses just in case. (I always have plenty of those.)

Hope everyone has fun.

edit - I will likely watch The Howling or Blair Witch Project or both

-Brian

Letterbox, the delivery guy didn’t put the parcel fully through. Some nice person pinched it then posted the empty packaging.

One side benefit of being the most hated man on my street is that my immediate neighbour has an array of cameras pointed at the pathway to my front door in a misguided attempt at intimidation...

He would be absolutely no help to me in a theft situation... but the porch pirates don't know that..lol..

You should give them something special and dress like Cousin Eddie from Vacation and walk out to the mailbox.

Police can request the video if they are working. People with cameras should know the police can and often do request the videos.

I kind of feel like most people in cities should have dash cams after seeing the insurance fraud videos some dash cameras have caught.
