[Show spoiler] . Plus the way some of the fades were edited out was quite crude and annoying.I personally think it's a good thing that the US cut has since become the default, it's clearly the most complete, most cohesive, and most satisfying experience between the two cuts. |

Did not say there is an issue with the master, it could just be better encoded than it is. And of course include the original theatrical audio. |

The 5.1 track is mostly faithful to the original, it's really mostly just the minor song miscues that are the issue, outside of the occasional added reverb and minor wind sounds. Still 0 excuse to exclude the original mix though, I guarantee you if this release instead occurred in the last couple of years it'd be included, same for Full Metal Jacket. |

I just think the longer cut drags. Pretty much nothing cut from the Euro cut is essential. It's mostly additional exposition. I've never cared for much explanation in my horror.
Ambiguity is king for unease. Also, the transition from Jack pulling the fuses from the radio directly to Hallorann on the plane is perfection. So much smoother and more effective than an additional scene of him talking to the guy. Then again, I've never been a believer that "more is better." I loathe the extended cut of Halloween with a passion, and find most "extended cuts" to be utter tripe that just bogs down pacing for marketing purposes. |

When I watched the shorter one it didn't feel differently paced at all to me; it's just missing stuff. And it's stuff I missed missing!

The shorter cut doesn’t have:
Hallorann introduction “Dan, did you get tired of bombing the universe?” “Danny’s not here, Mrs. Torrance.” |
