Chances are it's the same scan and maybe even the same encode. That iconic art looks a lot better without the really chatty tag line on top of it, but looking at original posters it seems like it was part of the design. Still looks much nicer without it. The commissioned VS art is pretty pedestrian but at least it's somewhat sober. It really wasn't worth all the hassle it ended up causing.
