Just pre-ordered:

Cruising 4K
Lifeforce 4K
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 4K

All from Arrow due out in February 2025. I also added Delicatessen 4K disc from Severin to my existing order after learning that supplements on the domestic release have much more extras than the UK studio canal version.

LIFEORCE is one of my all time favourite guilty pleasures. I never upgraded to 4K because I've only ever seen the Director's (International) cut and love it so much that I can't imagine the theatrical being anything other than a lesser experience... but to be fair, I can't make an informed judgement as I've never seen the UHD. I am more than happy with the Bluray copy that I have. If they ever come out with a 4K version of the Director's cut, I'd be all over it.

The pre-order Arrow release offers both cuts in UHD.

I am thankful for this place, too, because here is where I met all of you.
happy belated thanksgiving to you and everyone else here.

It is coming out in the director's cut. That's the biggest selling point and the reason why I'm buying it. For years the labels have said they couldn't restore the DC, because they'd have to do the restoration from scratch or whatever. It's always been released as a supplemental to the TC in almost every iteration .

Arrow Video seems to have gone to source for this one.

Today I checked 7 UHD Blu-ray titles at Amazon and Walmart, the prices were identical down to the last penny. Typed in “Hush UHD Blu-ray” and got 7,763 results at Target’s site so gave up on them.

I saw "It Ends with Us" at my Target after they claimed to have eliminated movies. Kind of funny to see that one.

Amazon has no idea when I will receive my copy of Alien Romulus ... I should probably cancel and re-order that one as the preorder seems to have resulted in some confusion.

Speaking of confusion, I saw several mentions of this movie coming to Disney+ only to then discover it was actually on Hulu but people were saying D+ because you can add Hulu to your D+ subscription. .... ah well.. .. The good news is I didn't ruin my fist time seeing it by watching it online.

Kind of a busy but productive day for me .... Lot so holiday related chores and missions. Looking forward to having all my kids home for holiday break in a few weeks.

Brand new Disney titles are always slow to be shipped by Amazon as a consequence of their never ending feud with each other.

It could also be a widespread distribution problem. Walmart.com delayed my order for this and Universal's The Wild Robot .

Caught ROMULUS on streaming a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it. The UHD is arriving today but I won't be watching it until later when I can do an ALIEN marathon with my daughter maybe over Christmas break depending on what other family members want to watch. We'll do all 4K except ALIENS which I will screen for her on BD as I think it looks better.

As far as Christmas goes, we kicked off our new annual tradition of celebrating it by picking out a tree yesterday. After years of regaling my family with stories of the pitfalls of setting up a tree, last year was ridiculously easy. I plonked the tree in the base and filled it with sugar water. It was straight as an arrow and we simply decorated it.. not a single pine needle to clean up on the way in...

Yesterday was a more traditional representation of my youth LOL...Of course we went bigger this year...Pine needles EVERYWHERE ramming it through the front door, 4 people taking more than an hour to agree on what was considered "straight" with the tree threatening to topple over with each new JENGA piece placed on it ...Nostalgia

It is 28 degrees and expected to snow as I head out the door for another trip to St. Louis. Today is the first of 10 appointments this month and the 71st of the year.

Hoping for good results and easy travels for you..

Snowfall has been a crazy thing in recent years. Where I am in Toronto, we are equipped for 2 or 3 heavy storms a year....but lately, the moderating effects of Lake Ontario means that areas all around us get walloped while we get nothing.

This weekend, Buffalo (an hour south of us as the crow flies, an hour and forty five minute drive around the lake) had to shovel out for the BILL's game while friends of ours about an hour's north received more than a meter of snow,,,, Toronto received little more than a dusting with no accumulation..
