Someone, please apply (Native 4K) to the main product page "Resolution". This is definitely a (mostly) genuine rescan, and it (mostly) blows the old 4K out of the effing water. Just compare screenshot #9 with #5 from caps-a-holic's upload of the old 4K -- It's not the identical frame, but the same scene or maybe the same shot, and Liz is rendered flawlessly. Everything from color saturation, contrast, sharpness and compression render a lifelike yet filmic image, vastly superior than any prior transfer. Mostly.

Of the 25 screenshots provided, one of them, #4 isn't so high-quality. It doesn't look like James Cameron remastered it, it looks like Peter Jackson remastered it -- Seriously, WTF happened there? More importantly, how much more of this garbagio DNR processing is there in this transfer?

It'd be a shame if it plagues many, most or all VFX scenes. That being said, I'd still definitely snag this transfer and I'm glad I held out from buying the original Cornetto 4K trilogy. I'm just now hoping they do onto Hot Fuzz as they did here. Mostly.

Maybe they did add more DNR, but hey 4k rescan from OCN is still way better than a lazy upscale with HDR slapped on it. I am definitely sold on this release now!

The French actually pressed their own disc? Interesting. My FNAC delivery should arrive this week.

Come to think of it, the French are the only ones I know that pressed their own DVD as well. It has different menus and extras, they added the zombie scene from Spaced.
