Placed an order on GameFly for the following:

Got all 4 for $59, so around $15 each. Not a bad deal. They're used but everything I've ever ordered from GameFly has included slips and a working digital code. Not to mention in great condition.

And I was gifted these:

My physical media purchases were pretty light this year so looking forward to going a little crazy over the holidays.

, been early to see you.

Recently I got a “Keep” offer from GameFly for Civil War that was a fair amount less than Amazon so I decided why not. I went to checkout and was asked if I wanted to use points or credits to pay and I selected yes. I had enough to pay for the UHD title. I will start to pay more attention to my GameFly emails.

Civil War - Did not care for it but it has a demo worthy Atmos sequence toward the end of the movie. The Zidoo media player has a feature were you can create “clips”. Have not tried it out, I may use a editor and create my desired MKV clip files.

Note on the Stewart screen material, info about Ultra Perf may not be on their site yet. It is a new material with smaller holes than Micro Perf.

Great news Wendell and congrats! I know you have been toying with taking this plunge for a while. You will love the JVC.

Thanks for that.

My second front projector was a JVC, it was the first native 1080 x 1920 model they had with HDCP DVI connectors. Allowed digital connection to my Blu-ray and D-VHS D-Theater machines.

My Sony VW600 projector still looks quite good with a low hours lamp. The JVC should be a fair amount brighter with a good bit better contrast range. Now to read that 106 page manual.

Before I snagged my Panny Plasma in the late 2000s, I had a Sony rear projection TV, I forgot the model, but it had DVI, but I needed the DVI to HDMI adapter for Blu-ray playback. No Country for Old Men was the last BD I watched on that set before I switched over to the Panasonic exclusively. I also had a Samsung multi-purpose player - it played DVD/BD/SACD/DVD-Audio and that was also DVI compatible.

Sorry about that flashback tangent but the DVI brought back some neat memories.

Yeah, I saw this in the cinema (back when I still went to those ), and was really underwhelmed. But after watching it several times since, it has really grown on me and I recognized how great of a movie it is.

I just want to wish a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone who participates in the friendliest thread on the forum. I'm thankful to Steedeel for introducing me to this thread and for all the new friends I've made here.

To Vilya, I know you have a busy, hectic schedule this season, but here's hoping you get some time to rest and relax and enjoy being with friends and family.

Hope everyone and their families has an amazing, blessed day!

The the physical properties of the DVI connector was superior to the flimsy HDMI connector. I had a Outlaw AVP during the DVI period and it only had two DVI Inputs so I purchased a Zektor DVS5.1 DVI Video/Audio switcher. The chip set used would not work with Dish HD satellite receivers so Zektor sent me a updated version at no charge.

I still have several DVI/HDMI adapters and cables with DVI connector on one end and HDMI on the other end.

I was thinking about it and I don't think I would still be collecting media if it wasn't for this site.

Like I stopped going to theaters in 2020. I used to buy and sell a lot on craigslist but in 2020 it also seriously dried up. I used to buy a fair amount from library sales but they all stopped during covid.

Like without this site most of the stuff I collect these days I would not even know had a blu ray release because most media isn't properly advertised.

Its the same problem with books. Stores like amazon are terrible when it comes to discovering new things, finding deals and finding new releases.

A fair number of the problems media has really are on a marketing level. long waits between theaters and physical releases. digital and physical having different release times. digital having discover-ability and ownership problems. Even with this site organizing things I still miss lots of things and never know lots of releases even exist.

Nosferatu is finally on tonight at my theater in IMAX and it's looking like it will sell out. There's only 1-2 rows at the front that have tickets available. Stoked!

This site has been a Godsend for collectors. We can also be grateful that there are boutique labels which have been great with offering so many movie titles that wouldn't get released or upgraded on disc otherwise. The death of disc is a long way off.
