After more research - may just go with the G3 since these still have the MLA panels:

[Show spoiler]My appointment lasted 6.5 hours. In that time I had an echocardiogram and three EKG tests- with them applying and removing the sticky EKG leads each time; I felt like I was having my body waxed one tiny square at a time throughout the day.

I had to do a 6 minute walk test where the goal was to see how many meters I could walk in that time frame. A healthy adult my age and size should have been able to walk 555 meters; I only managed 313 meters. A result below 350 meters is bad.

Next up was the infusion treatment; it took two tries and two nurses to get an IV going on me. Once that was accomplished they had to draw 15 vials of blood out of me, but they could not get any blood from me even with a tourniquet applied to my arm. The nurse had to attach a syringe to my IV site and draw out the blood slowly until all 15 vials were filled.

After the bloodletting, then the infusion itself could begin. I was pretty loopy during most of it thanks to the pre-treatment drugs.

I also had to fill out 5 "how do I feel" questionnaires. The irony.

It was a damn hard day. I had to be up at 4 AM. I was on the road by 6 AM. I did not get home until 5:30 PM. I went to bed an hour later and I did not get up until 7:45 AM this morning. 13 hours in bed and I still feel tired as hell.

Next trip is this Monday for my 80th and final medical appointment of the year.
That is a brutal day. Hope you get some rest this weekend.

It took a month to arrive, but here is my last disc title for 2024:

I never thought I would see the day when this movie would be on a 4K disc!

For my movie disc database I am using the image from Imprint Films. I have cropped the image.

This is the image that my ZIDOO scraped for this title... I've never seen this movie... at least that i can remember... it was supposed to be the back half of last night's double bill... but I got to tinkering with my new (to me) NZ7 and finally discovered the Laser diming function that correlated to my old projectors auto iris function... this required me to go back and run all my tests...I am now in heaven with regards to the NZ7 as it represents a solid upgrade in EVERY aspect of my visual experience... however THE KEEP will have to... well..keep

Will with you .

I am going to start out with Filmmaker Mode on my new JVC and go from there. Will be interesting to see how it does with the early scenes of Starwars E4 & E5.

The move to the NZ7 has entailed a lot of trial and error with how I process movies from my ZIDOO Z9X... Ultimately, the tone mapping in the JVC is so good that I've abandoned LLDV altogether and set the VS10 engine to output everything in HDR... I'm not sure why, but I can confirm that the JVC is reading all of the meta data from the INFO screen in settings and thus has it available for use with it's THEATRE OPTIMIZER function. The JVC's processing of HDR10+ material is marginally worse than having the ZIDOO output the video as straight HDR for tone mapping and other processing. Most of the settings are locked down in HDR10+ mode...maybe a future upgrade will allow the end user more control... but I doubt that it can get any better than the simple way I have this currently setup from the ZIDOO.

The last piece of the puzzle for me was the laser dimming. My daughter and I watched SMILE 2 last night and there were a few scenes where I attributed an elevated black level to the fact that it was a stream... which bothered me enough to do some digging while the credits rolled. I loved the auto iris function of my old X570r and it's ability to completely fade to black even if it meant that I could visibly detect it's dimming lag.... The laser dimming (Dynamic Control) is completely instantaneous and blows away the auto iris on my old unit... I find that MODE 3 works perfectly without any hit to brightness, contrast or clipping of highlights.. I can't imagine how much things can be improved with your higher end unit!!

Agreed. Mode 3 (and Filmmaker mode) was not in my original firmware. I found the other 2 notice-ably distracting particularly with end credits. When Mode 3 was added, I started using the dimming function again.

When the whole room goes black it's so dramatic it's essential. Watching Pearl last night with my holiday guests, you can feel the impact any time a fade to black "goes all the way" so to speak.

Looking at the upcoming release schedule and realized that January 21st might be the most packed release day that I can recall.

Pre-ordered these titles:

Kill Bill volume 1 4K
Kill Bill volume 2 4K
Jackie Brown 4K
The Substance 4K
Smile 2 4K (Steelbook)
Last Voyage of Demeter 4K (Been waiting for this 4K for awhile)

Will wait for a 4K release or a good price on these titles:

The Cell 4K
Vampires 4K
Venom Last Dance 4K
Azrael Blu-ray
Elevation Blu-ray
The Return Blu-ray.

12 titles catching my interest and wallet is insane to me.

Here is my always enthralling end of year purchase report:

In 2024, I gained:

101 titles on 4K disc
109 titles on blu-ray
6 titles on DVD
135 titles on digital

For the year ending 2024 I added 216 titles on disc. This is a slight drop from 2023 when I added 227 titles. However, in 2024 I nearly doubled the number of 4K discs that I bought: 101 titles this year vs. 52 in 2023.

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...ostcount=45009

Despite my buying a kinda pricey new TV this year, and all of my healthcare travel expenses, I still managed to grow my collection about the same amount year over year.

I expect next year to see a precipitous drop in my movie purchases, though. I'll post more about the reasons for that soon.

Glad you are nearly done with your appointments for the year, hopefully you can rest and enjoy your films.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Cheers to you and the entire thread.
