Thanks for the reply. I just tried that and it didn't work but I think the problem may be with the HDMI port. I can't even get a picture on my old TV now using HDMI but it does work using the composite cables that come with the system.
I guess since I've used different TVs and HDMI cables and it works not using HDMI it must be the HDMI port. Crap. I'll have to call Sony. Weird. It just stopped working. Maybe I jerked the HDMI cable around and bent something in the port. |

Nothing at all. Neither TV seems to find the HDMI connection. I've used 3 different HDMI cables and 2 TVs. Everything works fine if I use the composite connection but it's just a black screen with no sound using HDMI.
It worked fine on my main TV. I unhooked it all and moved it upstairs and it didn't work. I thought it was the resolution so I hooked it back up downstairs and it wouldn't work down there either. My PS3 slim works fine. If I unhook the HDMI from the slim and put it into the old one it doesn't work. |

Thankfully my cats have not attempted to cuddle with my ps3 lol. I did once have my sega saturn go off the table cause the dog tripped the cord. I don't recall the weight of that system but she was moving a bit fast and it hit hard. Still runs like new though. It bounced off her before hitting the floor.

I figured out what happened to my 60GB. I looked into the HDMI port and apparently I bent 3 or 4 of the gold connector pins straight back against the back side of the port. Wow. I must have caught them wrong with the HDMI cable and shoved them back when trying to force the HDMI cable in. Holy crap. I think I did it when I tried to put the HDMI cable in upside down. That's probably when they bent out and when I tried to put the cable in the right way it just jammed them back.
$150 to fix that? Surely the HDMI port can be fixed easier than that? |

Personally, I could probably do this. But I'd be so worried I'd jack something else up in the process that I'd rather pay the $150 in stupid tax to get it fixed. Then again, if you know someone who is handy with electrical repair, I doubt the part costs more than $10 retail, if that. |

I never said i don't like that its lighter. I was meaning either version is still good no matter the weight. Just sounds funny to me that someone really minds 10lbs compared to 7lbs. It sounds lazy to me. I even take mine with me depending on where i go and just use my backpack. It's no issue for me.

As far as I can remember (feel free to correct me on this), Sony didn't make any specs changes on the 60Gb version at all. So technically speaking your 60Gb should be same as the lanuch model.
