It's probably not under warranty anymore, being more than a year.
Yeah, it's driving me crazy. It is model LN-T4061F. What happens is this:

As soon as I bought the TV in January 2008, I checked out this site & others for best settings. I took it off dynamic/vivid right away, and set the video so as to be pleasing to my eye but also used a lot of user settings found on this site as the starting point. Backlight and Contrast are down to respectable levels and not cranked up.

So a month or so ago, I notice that I can see where black bar lines are going through my Comcast TV image. I started a thread here about it but it didn't get many responses.

It is definitely retaining an image. I can play XBOX or PS3, and then go to TV and I see certain images (health bar, for example). I can watch a 2.35:1 blu-ray, and then a 1.85:1 behind it, and the top & bottom of the screen are tinted green. Very distracting & ugly. The only cure I've found is to just shut it off for a little while, then I seem to get a fresh start with no image retention. I'm not sure what's going on...

My original thread about this: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...mage+retention
I didn't have all my facts straight. For example, I thought this was only happening when the TV had been on for several hours. I no longer think that's true.
