Yeah, I used to love that movie (and the sequel, and Der Todesking and Schramm...), but I'm kind of put off by the animal cruelty. Don't like the rabbit slaughter in the first and the seal slaughters in the sequel.

I ended up going for the US release (at the time I still wasn't able to find any info on the European release), and I must say unless the European disc has the same transfer, I'll probably regret my purchase, since I'm sure Paramount would do a much better job with the transfer. I'm finding Warner's Blu-Ray releases very underwhelming.
I'm always impressed with each new Blu-Ray I purchase, except Warner's releases. I received both this and Watchmen, and Watchmen in particular is miles ahead from what I watched theatrically in terms of visual quality. I understand the bitrate is quite low in some places because of the additional content stored on disc one, but again something seems off.
