Dunno, may be that particular movie compresses better than average one, but overall simple math is that mpeg 2 on 25gb media and especially with uncompressed sound on that does equal lots of artefacts due to insufficient space for video.
Morons using defective masters with scratches and dirt are different matter, but again, it's real frustrating to see that kind of mishaps happen on BD side only...

I just watched this on Blu-ray on Saturday and I thought all the water scenes were gorgeous.
Having grown up in the Cayman Islands it very much reminded me of home.
Very nice picture, very nice Alba and not too shabby of a story.

Default I thought Into the Blue looked pretty impressive

I just got done watching it and I think this is one of my favorite Blu Rays. Now I dont have many movies but I think it's because most of my other movies are dark action flicks
and this one was sunny and had alot of underwater scenes. I thought It was pretty pleasing to look at!

It does look good, but it looks almost as good on a 1080i upconvert dvd player. That was a tough one to improve on to start with IMHO.

Jessica Alba in a bikini through out most of the movie, yeah I'd say the movie is pretty impressive.

The under water scenes of the movie are the best part because you can see how vibrant the colors are

Default Into The Blue. Thoughts?

Amazon just dropped the price to $12.99 and I'm debating whether to pick it up or not. Can't go wrong with Jessica Alba, but what about the pq? Since the location is at the beach I figured the transfer would look pretty nice. But that's not the case for all bd's.

For those who have it or saw it, is it worth picking up? Thanks

PQ is great.

Particularly when Alba is on screen.

I bought the Blu long ago and I can enjoy the film just about any time. I rented the second one (alba-less) but wasn't as interested in that one... it had some funny parts though.

Agreed. The watchability factor is real high on this one, and the disc looks good.
