would love to see the German theatrical cut. on top of the UK censorship, the darkened parts of the image to hide stuff and included cartoon sound effects to the fight scenes

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) Alternate/Deleted Scene (German Audio) - YouTube

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990): Street Fight (German Audio) - YouTube

Ay, I completely forgot that I uploaded the street / roof fight with the German audio on YT.

The commentary of 1 is easy to find, II and III seems to be a different matter, I'm gonna have to get those DVDs sometime in the future.

I really hope that if they eventually do all three films, that they include the original theatrical audio mixes, it's absurd that they are stuck on VHS / Betamax / LaserDisc in the US.

Turtles II desperately needs it's theatrical audio mix restored, as the 5.1 on the DVD and Blu-Ray is missing sound effects and one line. (Mikey going "Hey Leo!" as he's being spun around by Rahzar.)

I'm in the UK, and had always watched the Warner "Big Box" VHS.

So, the UK version was censored? But did have footage the U.S doesn't?

Funnily enough, I've just received the Australian Bluray in the mail. I ordered it because it's the only release with the film poster art without the horrible orange brick effect.

It sounds though like every release is missing something or has something different.

What's currently the most complete, best and uncut version of the film? Is there a Bluray, or would I have to go back to a DVD or VHS from a specific country?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) Opening titles with LaserDisc audio - YouTube
Just compared this to the Blu Ray and yeah LD audio sounds more crisp/bright. Could be just an EQ thing, but i prefer the LD (even though it sounds slightly pitched down compared to the BR - framerate/region issue?).

UK VHS was released by Virgin.

The film was only censored in the UK theatrically and on VHS. The uncut version is what is on the DVDs and Blu-Rays.

The German DVD and Blu-Ray contains some of the alternate footage in a bit better quality (in German) as a bonus, as well as the alternate ending in English and Steve Barron's commentary track.

I hope the 4k is great. The movie needs a new scan so bad, and I hope we finally get Steve Barron's original rough cut.

The first three Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movies have been removed from Movies Anywhere.

Did WB lose the rights?

Fandango at Home says the first two are “currently unavailable at home.” The third film can still be rented.

I would love a 4K of the first TMNT.

The original 1990 live action film is an absolute gem.

I think it has aged pretty well, and I have always found it to be really underrated.
