Seeing as there is quite a bit of interest in these newly remastered boxsets and individual titles, I thought I would start a thread whereby one could post the prices they've seen locally or on the web.
The official release date is 09.09.09 On The Beatles website, and I'll use that as a parameter, they list the pricing as follows: The Beatles Remastered STEREO Boxset: $219.00 USD - £169.99 BP The Beatles Remastered MONO Boxset : $269.00 USD - £199.99 BP The Beatles (White Album): $22.95 USD - £16.99 BP The Beatles: Past Masters: $22.95 USD - £16.99 BP The Beatles: All Other CDs: $14.95 USD - £10.99 BP When posting, please put up a FLAG to identify your country and also type in a TITLE heading to identify the B&M/Online Retailer you're posting about. It goes without saying that you should also identify the CURRENCY. I hope you all get good deals and good luck! Here is the first review I know of on this much-anticipated and awaited release of both the MONO and STEREO remasters.

I think it has been shameful the way EMI has run the mono boxset pre-orders. They clearly underestimated demand for it, and now people are scrambling to secure a set. Greed ruled the day when they made many of the decisions related to the remastered issues. Almost all the albums could have fit on one cd each in both stereo and mono.

That being said, I agree that the price of both sets is a little steep, and I don't know why the mono mixes are only being afforded a limited pressing. 10,000 copies! And no one really knows whether that's 10,000 copies worldwide, or 10,000 per country. Pre-orders for the mono box are already fetching over $400 USD on eBay. Given that the remasters were archived at 24/192 I have no interest in PURCHASING the CD's - according to the Steve Hoffman forums there will be vinyl pressings done hopefully around May 2010.
Blu-ray's to come in 2012? That's what I'll spend my money on. |

The mono box set is currently sold out at most online retailers, and the stereo set is sold out at a few as well. The mono set is fetching > $400 USD on eBay.
However, according to this source, EMI is working to replenish supplies of both sets, and earlier reports of the mono set's production run being limited to 10,000 copies may have been unfounded, as apparently more than that were slated for the US alone. |

Archiving at 24/192, it only makes sense that a high resolution digital release will arrive at some point. If 2012 ends with no mention, I'll start to have my doubts as that's the 50th year of The Beatles...until then I'll keep my bubble inflated. |
