The seller I got it from seems to have been banned (lol) but the important detail is the N2QAYA000172 serial number. Make sure it has the backlight, and the HDR button and the -10s +60s buttons, without those it might be a UB900 remote which are actually cheap for the official one. All those sellers should have the same thing I don't think there is a clone of the clone.

I had a UB9000 clone remote and it cannot be compared to the original UB900 remote it is like night and day... and the clone I had also couldn't change the remote code.
N2QAYA000172 is UB9000 International/EU/UK version of remote, this remote cannot be reprogrammed to use with "other brand tv's, but it is cheaper than the US version N2QAYA000175.

Even Amazon Basics wire/cables are good stuff these days. I still see the snake oil in current day audiophile stuff when expensive data cables are pushed by Youtubers or ridiculous things like $100 ground loop boxes for a USB dac to filter out noise you can't hear.
I used to use Monoprice but had some issues with some of their stuff. I've switched to Zeskit HDMI cables, which are certified and extremely well built and I'm totally pleased with them.

There are clones of clones, otherwise the clones would all be the same, which they are not.

The OEM remote for the Panasonic 9000 is no longer available through Panasonic. BTW, I bought one earlier last year and it cost $160 delivered the next day.

Yup, those are the correct parameters by my understanding. This is the one I have that has been working as expected.

That looks just like mine, at that price it's worth the risk

Is the 820 considered a loud player?

My LG that I got from eBay as a player for another room is pretty loud when the disc is spinning (about 52 db).

When I turn the volume up, it pretty much drowns out the player noise, but it’s still annoying.

The 820 is less loud than my Sony, the Sony will sound like an Xbox 360 with certain discs (it's so odd), but the 820 has a repeating click sound the Sony doesn't have, but it comes and goes. I notice these things more cause my players are a few feet away on a rack.

I find it's "half a dozen vs. six" type of situation

I found that my Sony X800 was definitely louder with the disc noise while playing. HOWEVER, the UB820's fan noise during playback is way louder than the X800 was. the X800's fan was just stupid quiet. neither is a deal breaker, just a tradeoff

lol, that's actually the same one I picked up yesterday. just gotta wait till it gets here.

does it require pairing? or will it recognize the 820 out of the box?

for $9.44 it'll be a fun experiment if it's better than the 820's horrible remote

All depends what these players are sitting on. Every one of the full width Panny UHD players I've ever had sounded like it was gonna take off when put on my glass TV stand, just horribly loud. But put it on an "isolation platform" and it's soooo much quieter.

You can put some isolation feet and sound damping inside on the ub820 or step up and get the 9000.

My UB820 has recently had issues reading some 4K discs, mainly ones from Paramount. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yeah. Not just paramount discs. The 820 just seems to be failing on me..I've had it roughly two years.

Also you can put a brick (polished) on the top cover to add some heft.
...Or a marble plate for substance.
Or, inside the player, fill the empty spaces with lead blocks (rubber under).

...Stepping up to the 9000 is even better; just ask Robert (Value Electronics)

I've had mine for a little over 3 years and it just started happening about a month ago. Odd thing is it plays boutique label 4Ks and all blu-rays just fine.
