Rewatched Need for Speed. Fun, silly movie with very good 3D, replete with pop outs.Growing up in Michigan and working for Ford, this movie has a special place for me. My son’s Mustang’s trunk is signed by Carroll Shelby. We don’t have (m)any new 3Ds but plenty of old ones to keep us going…get busy y’all you’re falling behind!

Just testing out a few things and had another quick look at this movie. Micheal Keaton's over the top performance metaphorically speaking puts it over the top for me.

My dad also use to work for Ford, and drove a Shelby Mustang before someone t-boned him in the early 70’s. Lost him 9 years ago and in 2 days it would have been his 70th. I do have the day off and maybe I should try and give it a watch. Seen twice already on tv

Check out my Ford neon in my gallery. Sorry about your Dad, he and I are the same generation, 73 myself. He would have loved Ford v. Ferrari.

Rewatched 47 Ronin. Great movie, good 3D, nice soundtrack. Oh yeah got some more signs and one is pertinent to this thread.

Watched The Great Wall…again. I think the movie is better than the ratings. The 3D is outstanding including pop outs from explosions five feet from the screen! Great color and a bombastic Atmos mix. Lots of LFE and the overheads get a major workout. When the monsters a running above them when they’re in the tunnel the effects are outstanding, definitely a top five, all things considered. It also has a great looking steelbook.

Agreed - Great Wall was one of the first discs I watched when I found my used 2016 LG OLED. It's kind of just what you want out of a 3D action film, bright, colorful, poppy, and a lot of fun

As a movie, I think it's fairishly rated. I still have to ask why the spear women had to do plunging attacks from the top of the wall when, as we see later, the bottom of the wall has traps and gates that are far more efficient defenses.

The answer might have been "because the 3D of them diving off the wall looks cool", and it does look OK, but it isn't as strong as the diving in the trailer for Men in Black 3D.

I enjoyed it, and would give it higher marks if it had increased the 3D strength and given the 3D shots more time to breathe, instead of cutting them short with somewhat spastic editing.

Agreed , I think the women might have been bait. The fire explosions with the floating embers coming out of the screen are hard to beat. I still rate it in my top 5 overall.

I ordered How to Train Your Dragon 1-3 from eBay. I've seen the 4Ks but I've never actually seen the 3Ds. I think it should be good.

I also ordered Transformers Beasts, Bumblebee, and Migration from Turbine today which I just found out from investigating Wicked 3D. I've never seen the 2 TF's even though I got the 4Ks on BF a while ago. I've seen Migration and the 3D sounds great on it.

Watching wise, researched some Imax stuff like Under the Sea. The pop outs in those are insane.

All three are excellent and as you go through they get better and better.

The movie itself moves at an insane pace and occasionally has some good setpieces but the plot is pretty hard to follow and the character dynamics don't make much sense, I didn't realize that two of the characters on the team were in a relationship together until close to the final act of the movie. The action doesn't have any of the tactility of the first two Armour of God movies until the last act when we finally get some classic Jackie Chan fight choreography. Everything preceding it is too amped up, goofy, and FX-heavy to really land. One of my least favorite of the Chinese 3D discs I've watched thus far.

my copy is standing still at my contact in Japan alongside Terminator 2 while waiting for a price drop on Marvel movies. can't wait to get it as it's been a while since I watched the flat version and don't remember most of it.

Interesting, personal taste and differences in equipment, sometimes I read reviews and can’t believe we’re talking about the same movie.

Pulled the trigger on Frankenweenie. I remember me and the kids enjoying this movie back then (just 2D). Would be great to reminisce as a family this time in 3D.
