I'm thinking I should start selling my criterion Blu Rays as they will likely pay for the new 4K editions of things like The Third Man.

Checking prices on Ebay ... Yeah .... I could buy several 4Ks for what the Criterion Blu Ray of The Third Man goes for used.

Watched Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice last night, cracking AV quality, quite enjoyed the film, made me laugh and had some really cool visual gags. About as much as I had hoped for from a legacy sequel.

I saw this at the theater with my sister. We were not impressed. It felt stale and entirely contrived to me.

I have no desire to see it again and I will not be buying it on any format.

I'm glad that you enjoyed it, though. I wanted to like it, but it was a big disappointment for me.

I loved all the little details like the various wounds of those in the waiting room, and just being in that universe again. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not ever going to bother the greats, but as a fun, quickly moving sequel, I dug it.
I like the idea of having both films in my collection too, as I don’t think Burton will do a third.

Also, the
[Show spoiler]Carrie theme at the end nerded me out!

We too added that one to our collection. Have several Burton directed titles.

Watched Gladiator II via Paramount+ and will add that one to the UHD BD collection.

I binged the Jurassic Park franchise yesterday on 4K disc (I had gotten the set cheap from GRUV's eBay store during the holidays) and it was a fun time. I had not visited the first films in at least 20 years (at least the second and third films).

My rankings:

Jurassic Park
JW: Dominion
JW: Fallen Kingdom
Jurassic World
Lost World
Jurassic park III

I had not seen Fallen Kingdom or Dominion and was shocked at how much I liked Dominion. I watched the extended cut of that and it was still fun. I was shocked at how awful JP3 was, though. Lost World was mediocre as always.

I am ready for JP: Rebirth from Gareth Edwards now.

I watched it last night. It is a great movie presented on a great looking 4K disc.

Jackie Brown, Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill are excellent Tarantino films which I've watched several times. At the risk of being made an outcast, I'm afraid that I never liked Reservoir Dogs.

I bought this as soon as it came out. The original is outstanding - classic Burton. However I did feel a bit disappointed with this sequel to be honest with you. I've only watched it once, and maybe a second viewing may be required, but I don't regret buying it.

Yeah, I get why people would be disappointed, but it flew by for me. Was laughing from the first minute with the

Reservoir Dogs is actually still my favorite Tarantino movie. I've grown tired of Pulp Fiction over the years but always up for a watch of RD.

I've always enjoyed Jackie Brown, and if I was only allowed to have one Tarantino movie, this would be it. I really like True Romance as well - I know he didn't direct this, but I think he wrote it if I'm not mistaken.

I'll probably enjoy it better second time around. That does happen with me sometimes with movies. Who knows, perhaps I should give Reservoir Dogs another try. After all, it must be around 30 years ago since I watched it. It was back in the VHS era. I did see it twice on video and a third time when it was shown on either Sky or Film Four, but just never warmed to it somehow.

Saw it in the theater and went in with very low expectations, but that was my reaction as well. My wife also enjoyed it about as much. I still have to pick it up on 4k UHD, which will then get added to my annual Halloween movie-fest rotation.

It almost demands a purchase to freeze frame all the fatal injuries in the waiting room.

Definitely. So many details like you said. The type where I'll crack up finding stuff I continued to miss in previous viewings.

Video was about 200 ms behind DTS-HD MA while played in PCM over Optical from the Zidoo Z9X 8K yesterday. The AV receiver takes too long to process the HDMI signal and I saw no way to delay the Optical sound in the Zidoo settings. Think only formats that it needs to convert to PCM have this issue. Weird that it knows to delay FLAC and PCM but not DTS and probably Dolby.

Edit: Or maybe activating Optical with DTS/Dolby to PCM conversion makes the HDMI signal from the player lag behind the sound. Will post it on AVSForum and maybe also register on the Zidoo forums for feedback.
