I’ve been watching YouTube vids of the Wii U. I kinda want to get one.

It's never too late. Prices have gone up, but you can still find a CIB Wii U for around $200. Most of the better games are still reasonable. I still have a lot of fun playing it.

GameStop has it for $130, but they don’t ship to my address.

I will look more into this after I pay my property taxes.

^I would first ask yourself what you need it for. Are you going to hack it? If so, yes it could be worth it. But if not, you are better off just putting that money towards a Switch (or Switch 2). Most of the noteworthy Wii U titles have been ported to the Switch at this point. Unless you are hacking it for emulation I would say it's not worth it at this point.

Both HD Zelda remasters are still stuck on the Wii U, and Star Fox Zero. Maybe a few other third party titles as well. The Wii U also has a great DS emulator as well. I'd say it's worth it if those things are of any interest to you. However Wii U discs are apparently prone to a unique form of rotting which causes pin-sized holes along the inner rings. A few of my discs have developed them within the past few years. Luckily they were still able to be read and I managed to create back-ups of them using a disc dumper. So yes, jailbreaking and using homebrew is a must if you want a Wii U.

Yeah, it's a good console if you use it as an emulation machine. If you're just going to leave it stock I still say it's not worth it unless you REALLY want those 2 Zelda titles. They are both quite pricey on the secondary market (and I still think they will get ported eventually). Star Fox Zero is...certainly a game that exists.

I purchased one years ago for my kids Christmas gift. It was the Mario Kart 32GB Black one and doesn't have the Hynix chip thankfully. I purchased Smash Bros and Mario 3D land.

They are all off at collage now and I discover more and more to love about the Wii U everyday !

A couple of days ago I was at a used toy store and picked up a Wii U Pro Controller for $20 ! It has a few light gaudges on the joystick hats so I think that is why the seller went low with it but it totally works great and is helping with the playability of several games.

Yesterday I had some time and wondered if my local thift store would have the Wii Balance board because I wanted to try Wii U Fit. They did for $8! it only had a single stain but it cleaned up perfectly and so far I'm loving Wii U Fit !

I suppose these are old and dead systems but there's so much to love and so many second hard treasures to find. I would get one if I didn't already have one. And, I'm using the one I have more than my PS5.
