The bit where Drew Barrymore steps out and says, "I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter" was a bit too on-the-nose IMO.

The original is underrated. Rewatched it for the first time since the 80s with my 8 yo son and we both really enjoyed it. Leaps above Stranger Things which basically took most of the plot of this movie for Eleven's character.

The remake, hard pass.

I hadn't seen it since the 90s and my Drive in played it a couple years ago as part of their horror movie weekend marathon. Really enjoyed it, would probably grab a 4K if it ends up coming around.

Stranger Things lifts so many ideas from Stephen King's fiction, I could imagine King suing over it, if he wasn't already fabulously wealthy.

With May reveals less than two weeks away, I'm hoping Nosferatu and Red Sonja finally get dates.

We might get another Shaw set since those have been coming bi-monthly and we know more sets are in the works.

Guessing the Golden Princess titles won't start hitting until July or August.

Wonder if Shout will get another WB deal in the future and with them making miracles happen, hoping they can get some of the Netflix films.

Say what you will about Scream Factory but they are delivering great movies like these (in 4K UHD) to my collection on the regular. I am glad they're around.

Also, a note on John Carpenter's Vampires...in the Wake of David Lynch's passing, and having recently revisited Twin Peaks and Fire Walk With Me -- Sherryl Lee is a sight for sore eyes in this one. James Woods and Daniel Baldwin are pretty great and hammy as well. I'm not sure if it was the remaster, but I enjoyed Vampires so much more viewing the SF 4K. Highly recommend both!

How's people experience with Shout's customer service? I think I remember people saying crap? Got my order of multiple things today. Noticed the Dawn of the Dead 4k was re-shrink-wrapped. Opened it. Two loose discs and of course the 4k disc has a fingerprint and some light scratches. I assume it was a return they wrapped back up. I know the policy on their site says any scratches under 1 inch (aka most scratches) they'll only replace it playback is affected.

I haven't seen any of the earlier Nosferatu films mainly because of lack of interest but after experiencing the Eggers flick, I want to watch at least the 70's version.

'20s one is excellent (I'm not mad about silent films but I love this one), never watched the '70s one.

In my experience they can be slow to respond but have always made things right for me. They seem to have real human beings who speak English as a first language handling their CS, so that immediately makes dealing with them a million times less frustrating that dealing with Arrow. It does probably help to be polite and provide photographic evidence of damage in your initial email. I once had to request multiple replacements for the same film because the factory kept sending out damaged cases (first disc was also badly damaged), and they eventually offered to send me a pristine case direct from their main offices. Arrow would have just passed me from one clueless drone to another for a few weeks until maybe they offered me a pittance to go away.

You really should give the original 1922 version a chance, it's a masterpiece and should be seen by every horror fan, imo. :P

The 70's version is pretty artsy and not quite as mainstream as the 1922 version but it's another great work of art and definately worth seeing (Kinski especially is downright creepy in it).
