I overheard his coversation with the store sales assistant. He wanted to upgrade his entire home theater system with Hi-Def components as he had just purchased a 42" 1080p Plasma. The inept employee couldn't answer his questions about Hi-Def formats and their players. He said he was looking at hi-def format DVD's and was considering either the PS3 or the LG dual-format player. That was my chance!

I spoke up about my own research into the format. I extolled the virtues of Blu-Ray and the things to look for when upgrading his equipment (TrueHD, DTS-HD decoding, HDMI 1.3, etc.). I suggested that if he still wanted to wait for stand-alone Blu-Ray players to come down in price, he should consider the PS3 in the mean time because it's one of the best players out there. Plus, he has a ton of PS1 & PS2 games at home. I also told him that I have the same setup and my PS3 has performed superbly as my Blu-Ray player. By this time, the employee had moved on to another customer. I also pointed him in the direction of the Onkyo TX-SR605/705 for his receiver upgrade (mine's coming tomorrow!!!).

Needless to say, this guy was very appreciative of my input. He left the store very excited and I have no doubt he'll be a happy Blu-Ray fan.

Word of mouth, my friends, will always be the best source of supporters for Blu-Ray!

Great f'ing job man!!!
