Love Casandra Wilson! I really wanna spring for a Patricia Barber 45RPM one day. Maybe I'll treat myself for the Holidays on that one!

Hi Rhett, have a great hike buddy! John, have you heard of Carolyn Leonhart? She is extremely good, and also on Blue Note!

No I haven't! Might have to check her out. I'm a huge fan of female vocalists!

Hi John,

Nice to finally see your system! How did your TT experiments go? Did you ever find out what was causing your speed fluctuations?

Do have any plans to visit your family out west? It'd be nice to finally meet you one day!

Keep spinnin' that black gold. :-)

Hi Rich! Looks like I should finally have an answer this coming Thursday. Experienced a few delays (work and conflicting schedules), but it's looking good for this week. Will certainly keep everyone posted on the outcome.

Hello John

Looks great !!! When and what upgrades (if any) have you been considering ??? I would love to see you with a nice 2ch integrated or something to really bring out that analog love !!!

If I may make a recommendation eh, something from this company ???

Leben
http://www.lebenhifi.com/products/index.html

Not really all that expensive, but it sure sounds like it !!!! I would love to have one of their offerings !!!!

None the less I do love the Yamaha sound when it comes to AVR's. Wish I would have stayed with Yamaha when I did the AVR upgrade with HDMI back in the day. But, Onkyo was the first to market then with all the features.

Enjoy !!!

John, your revised pics are fantastic. I love that you are willing to go outside the box and try things like toeing out your speakers for an improved sound that way, and that you won't be conclusive about it until you've had weeks to carefully listen to them.

Although my speakers are not the caliber of yours, I do listen to vinyl with the subwoofer, and the 'bottom' that it produces really makes me appreciate the beauty of analog sound. I certainly understand the purist-view of using straight, 2-channel operation without a sub, though. I have a feeling that a choice of sub for you, when that time comes, will not come quickly, but only after much thought and consideration.

I see you have two turntables now. Maybe you've gone over it before, but I am curious as to why. Does one have a moving magnet cartridge, while the other uses moving coil? I'm sure there's a very esoteric and poignant reason you do. Please elaborate for all of us vinyl junkies!

Are you talking about the CS-300 Integrated Amplifier ? If yes, I think it's somewhere like $3000-$3500 US. They do have other models, products available. Just scroll down.

Reason why I am recommending them to John is because Leben makes really great gear for analog playback, and would mate well with his type of speakers. Leben is one of those Japanese audio companies that build to extremely high standards. If you have the opportunity to hear their products in action, it is something special. It's all about "quality watts" !!!
