Default Subaru Crosstrek

I am thinking about trading in my Subaru Outback for a Crosstrek. Anyone have a Corsstrek? If so, what are your feeligns about them? They are a bit small is my only concern.

I don't have one but I have looked at them at the dealer. What makes you want to do the trade? What year is your Outback?

My Outback is 5 years old, it had about 9 thousand miles on it when I bought it. It is now at 91,000 miles. It's great car, but I like the Crosstrek, I like the orange colored ones. I actually went to a dealer today and test drove one, I really liked it.

It's funny, I told the dealer rep that i just wanted to test drive one to see how it feels. He and his manager tried everything to get me to buy it. It was funny seeing the looks on their faces when they realized I wasn't going to buy.

Wow, you've put quite a few miles on it. Hopefully they were some fun miles on your journey to 91K. So the car is 5 years only 5 years old. That is still quite new to me. How old was it when you bought it?

Did you notice any differences between the two vehicles? I think the Outback might be bigger but I'm not sure what other differences there are. I'm quite happy with my Mazda3 but I know once, while in the mountains, I told myself that I should have bought a Subaru

It was a new car when I got it five years ago, but it had nearly 9 thousand miles on it already. The sales guy who I dealt with from the Subaru dealer had beeen driving it. I wasn't too happy about that. My sister lives in Oklahoma and I drove down there from Iowa number of times to visit after I bought it. Once to Florida, then last summer all the way to Montana. I also travel for work a few times per week, so the miles added up.

Crosstreks and Outbacks are similiar, but Outbacks are bigger. When I test drove the Crosstrek, it felt like it hugged the road better. One thing I love about my Outback is that they are great cars to travel long distances, very comfortable cars. Outbacks are great for winter weather driving as well. It snowed here all day today and when I drove home on snow covered roads tonight, I had no issues. I wonder if Crosstreks can handle snow/ice? I have never been in a Mazda before.

Daaaamn, the dealer put that many miles on it? I'm assuming you must have gotten a pretty good discount. It sounds like you have put some good miles on it. I went to Montana with my parents once when I was a kid. This was in the mid to late 80s. I'd love to return someday.

I would imagine that the Crossteks would handle the snow and ice well but I can't say for sure. I've given just a little thought to trading my own car in for something a little closer to my dream car but I don't think that I will.

Did you go for a test drive the day that you went in? I would imagine that they were happy to let you go for one. If so, did you go by yourself or with a salesman? If you decide that you do want one, put the ball in their court and tell them to make it happen...by giving you a good deal.

And speaking of test drives, I hit six dealers the other day, just browsing. Second stop was the Infiniti dealer where they didn't have any Q50s that I was looking for. The salesman told me to let him know if there was anything that I wanted to test drive. They did have an $80,000 used Mercedes S Class that coincidentally is my dream car

Any update JDub? Still considering getting a Crosstek? If you stay with a Subaru, would you consider a WRX?

And on the topic of Subarus, I was stationed in Iwakuni, Japan and the MPs had Legacies and they were pretty sick looking
