You may get a corrected, new and sealed boxset of all four films as a replacement instead of the two individual titles you mention. I sent them a copy of my proof of purchase for Rocky III only, yet received a new boxset of all four films in replacement, and I know others did too.

I reckon sending out a new boxset instead of sorting individual releases is a lot easier for them, and I look on their generosity as their way of apologising for the buggeration. Great customer service.

Hope this helps.
Brilliant!
Thank you HarryP221

Just wondering if there are any markings on the replacement discs to identify that these are indeed new pressings?

I can't see any difference except the texture on the disc labels feel a little smoother.
All the logos and numbers appear same.

I received my replacement discs today as well. I was so confused when a parcel that was clearly a 4K release turned up but was very happy to receive this just a few days after putting in my request.

I also received a replacement collection two days after sending an email to the address HarryP221 gave above. I included a receipt of my purchase of Rocky I in a 2 for £25 deal and got sent the whole boxset. Nice and thanks.

If I bought Rocky IV 4k from Amazon or HMV today, would it possibly be a corrected disc, or do I still have to send away for a replacment?

My replacement collection is with family in the UK so I can't check it. But I have a question - are the discs in the corrected version the same as the discs for the first four films in the new Ultimate Knockout boxset?

I sent an e-mail to wbcustomerservices@technicolor.com on Jul 22nd.

Hopefully they'll get back to me soon with an acknowledgement at least.

Sorry if this is a silly question but I saw the first 4 films on sale individually at 2 for €25, would these likely have the defective discs?

I don't know if anyone else took advantage of the Amazon sale but I picked up the collection for £30 and from what I can tell my collection came with the corrected discs as I can hear the piano cue in every audio track during Rocky 1!

Thank you to the people in this thread who posted the details of the return program.

I forwarded my Amazon order confirmation email from when I bought the 4K set in November 2023 over to wbcustomerservices@vantiva.com along with my name and address. That was Jan 4th (a Saturday) and they got back to me the following Monday morning with confirmation that they would send me replacements.

The replacements turned up this morning, so barely a ten calendar day turnaround. Well packed in a cardboard box with the discs in individual Amaray cases. Pretty impressed with the service. Bad Q&A is a pain in the arse, but a good replacement program makes up for most of it.

HMV are selling the Rocky UHD as part of a 3 for £40 deal. Would these individual releases have the defective discs?

Good question. I’d like to know as well because as you said all numbers and titles seem identical. I can’t remember if I swapped the replacements out and into the case last time I watched.

For US discs:

Did a quick physical compare of the discs, and for those buying new copies wanting a quick confirmation on whether the disc is fixed or not, it looks like the inner-ring serial/product number on each is 700010519x.x, with the last full number indicating the movie and the point version showing a fixed disc or not. The first Rocky is 7000105192.1, and the new disc changes to ...192.2. New numbers:
  • Rocky ...192.2
  • Rocky II ...193.2
  • Rocky III ...194.2
  • Rocky IV ...191.2

If you have a ".1" at the end of the number, you've got the old disc. Hope that helps.

.

Odd side note: Rocky is "2" and Rocky IV is "1," giving a possible indicator that Stallone's new cut was the impetus for all this. (or it may be simple chance) Things that make you go hmm...

For UK discs:

Quote:
Same as for the US discs except the inner-ring serial/product number on each is 700010519xRx, with the number before the "R" indicating which movie it is and the number after the "R" indicating if it's a fixed disc or not. The first Rocky is 7000105192R0, and the new disc changes to ...192R1. So the numbers on the corrected UK discs should be:
  • Rocky ...192R1
  • Rocky II ...193R1
  • Rocky III ...194R1
  • Rocky IV ...191R1

Basically, if your UK discs have "R0" in the numbers around the centre of the playing surface, they are the incorrect discs.

Whereas if your UK discs have "R1" in the numbers around the centre of the playing surface, they are the corrected discs.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, sir. I have correctly identified the new discs as the ones still in the white sleeves WB sent. Meaning, when I recently did a Rocky III and IV double feature I watched the old discs! Oh well, moving on.

Just got ROCKY from HMV and it's the old disc.

Unbelievable after 2 years, but there you go.

Wow, that sucks. Here's a copy of my post about getting replacement Rocky UHDs. Hope you find it useful.

I've sent Warners an e-mail.

I previously got replacements for III and IV, which I'd bought a while back.

I assumed after two years HMV would have corrected copies.

How naive am I?

And why I buy II I'll likely have the same issue again...

Did you get a response to this? I just received the first Rocky as it was only £9.99 on HMV and got the old discs. I’ve emailed as well.
