A few months ago, a surviving episode of Z-Cars had quite a few music tracks in it (two members of the Newtown detective team visited a club where something suspicious might have been going on). Fast forward to the episode shown last Saturday evening ("Legacy"), and there were (I counted) three tracks heard in scenes at the hotel where an hitman was staying. I recognised two of them as they had been on random editions of Top of the Pops from the same year that this episode of Z-Cars premiered on UK TV in:
Love Me Love My Dog - Peter Shelley There's a Whole Lot of Loving - Guys 'n' Dolls. Thought the three-part story came to a mostly satisfying end [Show spoiler] The actor who played the hitman in "Legacy" I recognised from the last series of The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin (he played Reggie's son-in-law Tom). |
