The BBFC’s report on 36 Hours.

“People fight, trading punches, slaps and blows with elbows. Guns are fired, killing people.

A man threatens a woman, menacing her and grabbing her waist.

There are oblique references to adultery, however rumours of a person's affair are proved untrue. A man makes a sexist remark…

People drink alcohol.“

After this, the examiner swooned onto a couch and had to be revived with smelling salts.

Sounds like an episode of Edgar Wallace Mysteries shown on the telly in the afternoon.

Anyway, good it past the safety inspector at the BBFC before being set loose on the public.

IMO, if 36 Hours was the next release (the third) it would be a mistake by Hammer at this point, it needs to be something more known and desired, like Quatermass. The Quartermass Xperiment and Quatermass 2 are long overdue to be dragged up from SD in the UK.

Does anyone by any chance know how the German Anolis release of Paranoiac compares to the Final Cut UK release? What I could gather from the forums is that the Final Cut release is to be preferred to the newer stretched US Shout release and to the older Eureka release. I would prefer to get the Anolis if it compares to the Final Cut release and not the others.

I've just had an email from Evri saying they have my Hammer parcel and it's on it's way, only thing I've ordered is The Four Sided Triangle but according to the Hammer site it is still unfulfilled. Looking forward to see what arrives.

I also received a package from Hammer via Evri, although mine arrived today.

In my case I had no idea I had qualified for a free poster so wasn't expecting this. However, any excitement was quickly ended when I opened up the poster tube to find it was completely empty!

Hopefully they'll send a replacement and this time remember to put the poster in the tube before giving it to Evri to deliver.

Maybe they’re telling you that you’re only qualified to get the mailing tube, but not the poster.

Correct. The tube is the bonus for ordering early. There was a special order button you had to click to get the poster included, for an additional charge.

From the website:
Special Features
This limited collector's edition comprises:
  • Two disks in a stylish digipak, one UHD and one Blu-Ray with the content duplicated across both formats, with English, French, Italian, Spanish, German subtitles on each version of the film.
  • A rigid box featuring brand new artwork by UK illustrator Tommy Pocket.
  • An extensive booklet containing new essays and reproduced material from the Hammer archives.
  • Facsimile reproductions of the UK and US pressbooks and a tube. (Double-sided poster is provided if special instructions are followed when ordering).

[Show spoiler]Just kidding, of course.

Congratulations!

There must have been a lot of people ordering quickly. I ordered it as soon as I got the email saying it was available for pre-order and got no message from them about a book and poster. :<

I hate all this marketing crap by Hammer, I ordered from HMV and saved quite a lot of money.

Same with me. The discount is more important at the moment given personal circumstances.

Plus I hate the way they mess around with the free gifts which are only available for a few minutes and you don’t know if getting or not, as noted above.

If they were fairer and said all preorders from their site get them then I may consider with some of my favourite Hammers over getting the HMV discount. Especially as they save giving deal discounts to Amazon or HMV. Plus they shouldn’t be charging for postage on top of selling at full price.
