I thought I had an import of this but, upon closer inspection, it's actually another film called The Last Jaws. I don't always watch new pickups as soon as they arrive. Sometimes I don't even look at the cover art and just stick it on the shelf until I'm in the mood.

I'll grab this but I'm not expecting much. Spielberg had enough trouble making Jaws with a good budget - why would the Italians - known copycats - fare better? I'm expecting lousy acting, worse "effects" and cheezy dialogue. Sometimes these movies work they way they are, other times they're a waste of time. Hopefully it's the former. Gonna wait for Atomic or Orbit to preorder. My last experience with TF didn't go too well.

The Last Shark and The Last Jaws and Great White are one and the same.

It is too bad but that U.S. cut may be gone forever. Unless someone has a surviving print, Universal won the court case, had it withdrawn and who knows what they did with it after that.

That also makes a U.S. release highly unlikely since VS or whoever would have to deal with Universal to license it.

Actually I thought was a very good Jaws rip off - beautifully photographed, flawed? Yes, but VERY entertaining! Will definitely be ordering this from Orbit

Not specifically about this movie, but the Italians brought an energy and ferocity to their 'adaptations' that sometimes overcame their budget and technical limitations (and they didn't so much care about MPAA restrictions). Sure, it's not going to displace the original, but that doesn't mean it can't be good entertainment in the right frame of mind.

Damn just saw this got pushed from June 6th to 30th. Sucks because I preordered it with Storm Warning from Umbrella so guess I need to make a decision, wait that long for both or cancel my order.

Wild to me that people think this is a 1 to 1 ripoff of Jaws worthy of a court win when I’d argue that William Girdler‘s Grizzly is way more of a ripoff yet had no problems during its initial release and still doesn’t have any. I feel like, if given the time and money, the producers/rights holders could easily win a case over Universal if they filed something today.

It's been a hectic time at TF HQ due to our first convention Weird Worcester taking place over the weekend just gone. Those who attended will have noticed that two new titles were proudly on display, so now we can breathe again it gives us great pleasure to announce that both NOMADS and THE LAST SHARK have landed and the shipping rollout can begin!

I'm aware of the above post, but should we be concerned that less than two weeks from release, this has been delayed, given the dreaded '1st January 2026' placeholder at HMV and even removed from BASE's distributor schedule?

This email mentions a problem with the disc mastering...

Hi folks!

We were about to roll out copies of THE Last Shark, but have been made aware of an issue regarding the master on the disc.

We have temporarily recalled the release while we investigate and get whatever needs fixing fixed.

Some of you will have noticed a new release date for the end of the year. This is just a stop gap and this minor setback shouldn't take too long. We will keep you all updated.

Apologies from the Treasured Films team about the delay. Keep them peeled!

TF also confirmed that there'll be replacement discs for those who already bought it at the Weird Worcester convention.
