I saw it was on Hulu last night. Probably watch it this week sometime. Honestly...it had a TUBI streaming vibe; so I'm surprised a prestigious streaming platform like HULU is carrying this

Did you guys watch the documentary, Mike Mignola: Drawing Monsters?
It has a bunch of neat insight into Mignola and Del Toro's relationship. I'd imagine it makes a great prelude to checking this one out, for Mignola being able to shoot 'his' Hellboy.

When I watch this film eventually, I hope Hellboy is the hero of the film and main focus. The trailer for whatever reason, put a lot less focus on him, and showed more of the twitching humans/demons in the forest.

The first two films did fairly well and, if the budgets had been smaller, they would have been profitable. Theatrically it did nearly 100 million on a 66 million budget in 2004 dollars. The second did 168 million on a budget of 85 in 2008 dollars. The reboot did very poorly. I think the audience was there but they just spent too much money to produce the film. Crooked Man made 2 million off a 20million budget.

That 66 million would translate to 110 million for a budget today.
They could aim a little higher and make a little more money. It is clear that this was really just to retain franchise rights to me. If they had spend, say, $60 million and worked for a wide release, they could have made back their money if the reviews were good.

Eh, don’t get your hopes up. It’s a team movie with Hellboy helping someone else with their problem.

I was expecting this to be a lot worse actually. Still, so heavily watered down compared to the previous installments. However, you can make the arguement that this works to it's advantage since they can focus more on the horror aspects. Jack Kesy was actually a pretty decent Hellboy. But a lot of people are gonna overlook that all cause he is no Ron Perlman, or David Harbour even. Not to mention, the make up isn't as good. Now to be fair, he is suppose to be a younger Hellboy anyway. Okay, to finish this off, the best I can say overall is that it is better than the trailers. If this was fanmade then I think people would have been a little more positive on it.

Well yeah but it's not exactly fanmade in the sense of DIY or Microbudget when you got the co-director CRANK and GAMER as director lol
