No Japanese credits is a major mark against it in my book.
I'll wait to see the full size comparisons to see if the improvement that I assume should be present are noticeable enough. |

Nadia is quite literally the previous 2K master by Sony PCL rather badly upscaled to 4K with boosted colours and contrast, with tons of destructive filtering that ruins the integrity of the image. It would be utterly hilarious if anyone released it on 4K UHD.

I'm not sure when this happened, but All the Anime has a bundle of both parts (so, the complete series) for £79.99:
https://www.alltheanime.com/products...edition-bundle It seems that this is a bundle of both Collector's Editions, so Part 1 has the box for both parts and Part 2 comes with the 88-page booklet. I see the price as £66.66 to the USA, which is presumably without VAT. Unfortunately, postage is £25 to the USA, but that seems to be a flat rate, so I was able to add both Millennium Actress and Belladonna of Sadness (which itself seems to be available again) for £120.81, or a total of £145.81 shipped. |

Thanks, McCrutchy. Looks like the offer is over.
All the Anime packed it firmly in bubble-wrap (in the box, obviously). Checking to make sure the discs read before I open volume 2, but, yes, it has the box for both parts, and the book. The episodes on each disc are in a single M2TS stream, which makes annoyingly long seekbars on players. First seven are 56 GB. Last edited by Warm Gun; 01-14-2025 at 03:20 AM. |

Finished splitting the 26 episodes. 194 GB (26 x 29 minutes) with Japanese and English. Impressed with the amount of detail left after grain management. Yeah, there's not such visual loss as in Dirty Pair, Vampire Hunter D, Lupin III (1972), The Castle of Cagliostro, Akira, Cowboy Bebop (Funimation) and so many others. Something for the other studios to look up to.
[Show spoiler] Watched it in 2016, liked it a lot. |

Still worth it, though. I'm halfway through the show. Was impressed by the colorful detail in the peaceful episode 13: "High Harbor." I don't see compression artifacts at normal viewing distance. Only see the weird cel blotches and moving dirt from one plate going over another. |
