I agree with this, but there are ways to avoid a crowded screening and I am all about striking that iron while it's hot.

Then sometimes good things happen like meeting like-minded movie fans, like the small child who gave me some of my faith in humanity back by quoting dialogue from Porco Rosso quietly and simultaneously during playback at my local mall theater

I won't let the buffalo wild wings set ruin my love of movie theaters

It's amazing how antisocial we've all become. Not that I'm not above it. I went to the movies recently, for the first time since before the scamdemic, and I'm sitting in one of those giant recliner seats thinking to myself, God this is disgusting.

Nothing beats experiencing a film on the big screen IMO. I'm not gonna pretend I've never had bad experiences with other cinemagoers being rude and obnoxious, but they're few and far between.

And the "scamdemic" made you antisocial?

Make it make sense.

Glad I never stopped, I even went during the pandemic when they were showing old movies for cheap, had to wear a mask to get in and all the air cons were on full so it was freezing haha

Agreed. Fellow audience members can be a pain in the ass sometimes, but the theatrical experience is irreplaceable. The memory of seeing a movie in theaters truly lasts forever.

I was going upwards of 5x a week pre-2020. It just fell out of routine. As I get older I'm often too tired anyway if the movie starts after like 7pm. Afternoon showings were definitely underrated when I could go. It's not as fun tying up an entire evening these days to watch a movie.

I go at least once per week. I've seen three movies in the last two days.

There's a difference and it's good you're aware of it. Now shut up, the movie is starting

I’ve been spoiled by 4K HDR TVs. Every time I go to the movies these days, the picture quality doesn’t come close. I also love being able to pause a movie and not miss anything. But it’s true that you remember every film you see in theaters.

One of my favorites, I can hardly wait to see this get the 4k treatment. Hope they do it justice, and hope they do the next two too!!!

I was 9 when this came out, so I don't recall if I saw it opening day. But when the opening score kicked in, I began grinning like a fool...and once the Turtles jumped out after the title logo, I was giddy beyond reason. I don't think I ever read any of the comics, but I loved the cartoon and had some of the figures as well. My fave of the four was always Mikey, because he was the most playful and didn't care what anyone thought about it.
