Yes I prefer DTS mixes and I would say most people do which is why it became a 'de-facto' standard on DVD and blu-ray.

Bottom line is that if you have a half decent system with height speakers then DTS:x is the way to go. If you can't mux then just compare the Atmos mix to the Neural-X up-mixed DTS-HD audio and choose your preference
I guess the problem is as someone who just has the RSM disc I have no way to listen to the atmos mix without buying it again.

Had really low expectations of this movie, which possibly helped me enjoy it more than I would have otherwise. Only kept hearing complaints about the locust plot, so was surprised that there is actually still a decent amount of dino screen time. Also enjoyed Jeff Goldblum. Definitely not a masterpiece but I found it a decent popcorn flick, at least when viewed in 3D. I felt it really helped the immersion especially in the scenes towards the back third of the movie.

I rewatched the Jurassic World trilogy in 3D again over the Christmas break. Here's a simple summary of how I feel about the 3D in each film:

JW1 Really good.
JW2 Good
JW3 Pathetic

As soon as I finished Dominion I popped the first film back into the player, just to see if perhaps Dominion's stereo was looking so feeble because my eyes/mind weren't in the mood: The difference in quality was immediately astonishing. I've got a horrible feeling I told myself this a couple of years ago but, for any future viewings of this film, I'll definitely stick with the 4K disc.

With my equipment and having watched the three movies I think JW and JWD are about the same level in 3D and have the same ar (2.00:1 for both) but not so much in story for JWD besides the 3 main characters from JP that brought life to the movie's story. JWTFK 3D is good but the 2.35:1 ar in a 16:9 TV really makes it the worst 3D of the bunch.

FWIW, the original Jurassic Park 3D conversion is quite good. On par with Jurassic World 2 3D. Jurassic World does have really good 3D, but overall the World trilogy of movies is just hard to watch for the stories alone. Visually though, they perform very well.

Default No standard bluray disk with the 3d disk..

Anyone know why turbine is not including a standard bluray version with dominion and only including a 3d disk? It would be nice to have both.

All of the films in their 3-D line are 3-D only. The 2-D versions are readily available worldwide.

Likely part of their licensing agreements with Universal and Paramount. The studios probably want to reserve sales of the 2D and 4K discs for their retail channels.

There is no 2D disc but the 2D version is included in the 3D disc. I tested the Migration and the Bumblebee discs on my non-3D 4K player and they both play fine in 2D.

Turbine's shop is temporarily out of stock again. However, Phil (their CEO) already mentioned on FB that another batch is in manufacturing. This is their most popular 3D title as of now.

I thought this was going to be Jurassic World "2016", but surprisingly I did not hate it. Just like the MonsterVerse movies, the 3D is serviceable and the movie itself is just silly popcorn fun. I also originally criticized the audio mix, but on a quick re-watch the DTS:x mix sounds great so the issue was my system, not the movie.
