It is currently on sale this weekend from JB hi-fi for $153 - including shipping. Plus, you will get GST back if you ask for it. That is probably another $4 or so, getting you below $150. https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/i...object-blu-ray

Just wondering how good JB HIFI is in regards to International orders? I ordered this set along with the Bewitched 1&2 set in their "Buy 1 get 1 free" sale. It's been a few weeks now and it still says it's on backorder. Should I be concerned or does it always take this long for them to get in stock?

Send them a note. They have always been quick to respond. If they respond and say they may not have any available, ask them nicely to see if they find a copy in their physical store.

I wonder why I Still Dream of Jeannie wasn't included in the set. They included the first movie.

Default I Still Dream

Probably a rights issue. I can't imagine they wouldn't have tried.

To my knowledge it has never been released in any form on physical media. I do recall vaguely, there may have been a VHS release overseas somewhere but I have no back-up for that.

Thankfully, I recorded it way back when. It's not the strongest out of the reunion movies. 15-Years-Later is really the better film IMO.

Just like the original dvds, random episodes have the theme without the little blip. Season 5's opener, Genie at the Piano, has the theme intact.

Just got this box today and have only had time to skim through a small sampling of content. Just starting a re-watch in order with Imprint's Bewitched. Both series look and sound fantastic minus the little annoyances like the theme, missing network material like bumpers and cast commercials (that was done with The Monkees and The Beverly Hillbillies and Andy Griffith and others, so it can be done!), but overall the presentation is stellar!

Not thrilled with how fast the new, corporate SONY logo treads on the vintage Screen Gems closing in the IDOJ eps, sometimes cutting the SG logo off too soon, but that is another minor quibble.

Still, this is likely the last time these shows will be revisited and having full, night of broadcast episodes, even just one or two samples, and correct theme arrangements would have been a nice inclusion.

Bit of a surprise, really, but the Season 5 episode, Uncles A Go-Go, incudes the Screen Gems logo and the NBC Snake with Chimes at the end in hi-def! The NBC logo gets run over by the modern Sony Pictures logo and fanfare tho. Just like-- WHAM! That new Corporate branding jumps in.

I’ve been debating about whether to spend the $250 for the Imprint BD set. How much of an upgrade is this over the old Sony DVDs?

So far, just previewing various episodes I see a vast improvement over the Sony dvd edition. Now, having said that, I know there are a few episodes here and there on the original dvds that have a shaky soundtrack, with lots of flutter and instability. I don't remember exactly which episodes those are (it's been near 5 years since a watch), but when I get a free bit of time I intend to skim the dvds and check the Blu counterpart to see if those were corrected.

For the b&w episodes? No contest. Imprint hands down. Never had the Mill Crick Jeannie Blu, so I can't give any impression or comparison with that one.

Ask yourself, is this a show that you will revisit? Programs like this, Bewitched, Gilligan, MASH, Bob Newhart (the list is long!) hold a special place for me and I do dive into them regularly, though not always completely or in order. They are just trips into my own, nostalgic playground and comfort space. So, to have what I consider, so far, to be the best presentation (for both Jeannie and Bewitched, which I'm currently revisiting/binge-ing in order) is, indeed, quite worth the investment.

Consider your own taste and remember the FOMO* Factor: If you miss this go-round, you've got maybe a 50/50 chance of a less expensive reissue or a more expensive after-market search for an out-of-print set.

*FOMO = Fear Of Missing Out. A very real phenomenon and sales tactic exploited in advertising and sales where limited edition quantities are involved, and something very real for people like me who are OCD when it comes to the latest Thing I Must Have In My Life.
