Default L'Amour Ouf (Beating Hearts) (2024) Gilles Lellouche February 19, 2025

Gilles Lellouche's Beating Hearts is being released in France on 4K & Blu and appears to have English subtitles.

The film was in competition at Cannes last year where is received very ordinary reviews. However, when it was released commercially in France a few months later it was received much more warmly that at Cannes and was a huge box office hit in France.

The film also been nominated for a slew of Cesar Wards including Best Film, Actor & Actress.

Saw this today on the big screen and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Beating Hearts won't be to everyones taste but I liked it enough to go ahead and buy the French edition.

As far as I know to date no US or UK distributor has picked up the rights for these countries meaning. Palace have the Australian rights and whilst they release lots of their titles on DVD, they have only released the occasional title on Blu Ray through Madman.

I sort of don't think this will get a Blu Ray release in Oz. DVD for sure but I'm not taking chances to wait and see only to miss out on the French release.

I found the back cover. It should have English subtitles. Wow!

Big thanks to Canal for this lovely surprise. I will order a 4K UHD copy now.

EDIT: The thread for the 4K UHD release is here:

Ordered mine last night after seeing the film earlier in the day.

Really wish more French Blu Ray/4K releases came with English subtitles.

Got my disc today only 6 days after ordering it from Amazon France.

It goes without saying that the picture is an exact representation of the big screen presentation on both the 4K and Blu Ray discs.

I checked the Blu Ray disc on my Region A locked player and a message came up (in French) stating that a Region B player is required to play the disc.

The back of the box is marked 'Region B'.
