Default Merry Christmas / Joyeux Noel - S. Korean blu-ray

Someone is selling copies of this disc on ebay at a better price than normal -- $20. Does anyone have this South Korean release? Does it have the same subtitles as the American DVD? I'm looking for a version with the original audio (a mixture of English, French and German) and English subtitles only during the French and German dialogue. Does anyone know if this is the version to get?

Thanks!

There are two listings that I could find on ebay. One of the listings has pictures of the rear packaging that shows DTS HD original audio with English, French and German dialogue with subtitle options in English, Korean, Japanese and French. I have the disappointing German release with no English subtitles. Thanks for the heads up on this release...I just may pick this up.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the English subtitles cover all of the dialogue--including the English dialogue--because that's very common with English subtitles on non-Japanese Asian releases. That, and the probable lack of English-friendly extras, as well as the price with shipping to a Western territory, is probably why the release hasn't been imported more often. I know those are the main reasons I rarely import from Asia outside of Amazon.co.jp.

I went ahead and ordered it for $20 with free shipping from someone in Kentucky. I guess I'll find out soon. I hope there are no subs over the English dialogue. Such a great film.

I was hoping someone had seen it and would know for sure. I'll post once I know exactly what is has.

Does this seller have anymore copies? I would pick one up at that price. The ones I found on ebay were all close to $40.

Finally got it today. Very nice! A beautiful, glossy slipcover, a much smoother picture than on the DVD, and excellent sound -- the battle scenes have a very full, immersive sound mix.

Unfortunately, the English subs are on throughout the entire film, including the English speaking parts. And on the one special feature I checked, there are no subtitles during the foreign dialogue.

A little disappointing, but I'm keeping it. The picture and sound are a very nice upgrade, and much of the film is in German and French, or has no dialogue -- like during battle scenes. And since some of the English dialogue is hard to understand with the heavy accents the subs will be helpful in some of the English parts too. I'd rather that the subs were only during the German and French dialogue, but until it's released that way somewhere, this is too nice an improvement to go back to the DVD.

I bought it from this seller and got it 9 days later. https://www.ebay.com/itm/314007428451

I'm very happy with it although I haven't watched it all the way through yet.

As Charlieray1 said, it looks and sounds very good. Despite being Korean, the menu is in English so it's easy to set up the subtitles. They often use commas instead of periods in the subtitles but I haven't noticed any glaring issues otherwise. I ended up ripping this so that I could have a version with subtitles on only during the foreign dialog. It's a shame that it's so hard for people to watch such a wonderful movie.
