Yep, general import UHD discs aren't the issue, they'll play fine and they're almost always region free.

I'm asking specifically about European TV shows on UHD, because European TV shows are filmed at 25fps.

Does anyone have experience with a European TV show on UHD?

I'm guessing that this is likely to be 2160p25, probably as shot. However, that's rarely used and it might end up being 2160p at 24 fps or 23.976 fps, especially if it was shot in those framerates.

Many US-model 4K UHD players and 4K TVs now have the capability to display 50Hz video built-in, though it's still not publicized. I would look up your equipment and see, or if you can't find the info, you could consider buying this release:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=381934

which is English-friendly and encoded at 25 fps. Then you would know if you can display 2160p25 video.

I'm slightly nervous, because I've encountered UK TV BDs at 25fps that wouldn't play on my system, or would only play the audio, and would only play properly on my cheap secondary regionless BD player, which can convert what's efffectively still PAL. I don't have a regionless UHD player, so this set feels like a $50 gamble, but I see no sign of this series being broadcast here, there are plenty of Sky shows that never make it to the US.

Well, the discs should be region free, so that hopefully shouldn't be an issue.

It's possible that your 4K UHD player can convert 50Hz video to 60Hz, depending on the model.
