That's my plan of the Switch 2 price goes up any more.

The box it came in sure is nice

It arrived last night but I haven’t decided when to play it yet. I’m currently going through Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart on PS5 again.

Sorry to report fellas that Prime Remastered just didn’t click with me. Went in with an open mind based on all the positivity but I honestly found it dull and still hate the first person style very much. Oh well, was worth the $10 difference between price and trade value to give it a shot.

I’ll stick with 2D Metroid if I play any more in the series going forward because Dread was quite good.

I just replayed Metroid Prime over the weekend. It’s not just a classic, but still manages to feel like a fresh experience compared to most modern AAA games. I hope MP2 gets a release sooner than later.

Happy you tried. Metroid is definitley not for everyone.

Happy you like Dread. Fusion is also really good and 2d if you have not tried it. its on the Gameboy Advance app if you have NSO.

I just wish those E.M.M.I. chases weren't so same-y.

I thought Dread was okay. Probably my least favorite 2D game in the series but I'd rate it just ahead of Metroid Prime 3 and way ahead of Other M. I hope we get another internally developed 2D Metroid game from Nintendo some day.

There's an interesting rumor out there than Metroid Prime 5 was already in development parallel to Metroid Prime 4 had already been in development for a good while, though with 5 still being a few years away. I believe that source has at least a so-so track record. It wouldn't entirely shock me if this were the case. It might make sense in terms of resources to start development of a 5th game while the 4th game is being developed, especially if they intend MP5 to pickup right where MP4 ends. The alleged release date mentioned is around 2027. This franchise is weird in that MP1, 2, and 3 came out in about a 6 year span, then there was an 18 year wait doe MP4.

If someone had told me in 2007 that all Retro Studios would release between then and 2024 were a couple of DK games I might have actually thrown up. It's little consolation knowing they helped a bit on MK7 and did some remasters. It's still hard to believe that the studio only created a pair of 2D platformers in all that time. I hope the MP5 rumor is true because another great run of Metroid games would help make up for lost time.

I think we could expect a 2d Metroid before a Prime 5 personally. Dread is the most recent game in story. (Prime series are prequels)

This could change if Beyond does a time jump or something.

I believe the Prime Series Takes place after Metroid Zero Mission and before Metroid Samus Returns.

They were but those were Santa Monica and Ready at Dawn iirc. My point was the length of time between releases which at this point they've not released anything since Days Gone in 2019. And before that is was 7+ years between Golden Abyss and Days Gone.

Blame Jim Ryan and his dumb push for Gaas games. He wasted Bluepoint for an entire generation too.
