I'm curious to see what will happen. There's been a lot of....discrepencies..prior to all of this. I do buy the occasional Diamond Select Toys figure or two. Their company rep, Zach, who's always been fan-friendly, stated late last year their Muppets 2-pack with Uncle Deadly had entered their US warehouse, however current pre-orders have now been pushed back to Winter 2025, and nobody received this supposedly produced 2pack. Definitely following this situation as it unfolds.

It should now fall to Universal Distribution, LLC, and NECA and WizKids parent Ad Populum, LLC.

It should, and we'll see. But licensing agreements signed years ago for various properties don't pause while they get themselves together. I hope it doesn't end up affecting some of their toy lines. Their Lord of the Rings figures have been exquisite. Muppets were kind of running out of steam after they did the main cast, so who knows if we'll even get any future releases that haven't made it to the tooling stage yet. Interesting times. DST has been a pretty solid company for so long, who knows if the folks behind the scenes can even wait it out before seeking employment elsewhere while the situation gets resolved.

Diamond announced that they are in negotiations with the 2nd buyer. So again hopefully this is done soon.

I suppose it depends on what line you're buying and the circumstances.
I had their entire first Ghostbusters line, and was looking forward to the Ghostbusters II/RGB figures only to be not only disappointed, but really annoyed. It was complicated impossible to get a Vigo, there were no original ghosts in the line, and their RGB figures other than Stay Ouft were all retools and repaints, so Slimer didn't have cartoon Slimer's body, and the four GBs all had the same body. They couldn't even be bothered to make minor mold changes to remove the raised name tag area. Considering that most of the second line were retools of the figures from the first line anyway, this was a real insult.
They've also never made their figure stands available here in the UK. I use Neca stands generally, but I wanted some of the smaller DST stands so I could put thee figures on the Gozer temple as the Neca ones are too big. The figures are prone to falling over all the time without stands, so it renders the temple useless without the stands.
Despite my gripes, the DST range are still the best Ghostbusters figures we've had, at least so far.

Unfortunately I've missed a lot of DST figures for financial reasons, including the Muppets ones.
I do have the three Tron figures, and like them (at least they came with stands) but am disappointed that Flynn only came in an 'infiltrator' version. I ordered the limited Tron figure in the VHS box, but Diamond UK never sent it to the comic shop, so I missed it.
The Black Hole ones are good, although the arms on my Maximilian aren't fitted in a way that they mirror image each other when rotated. Shame they never did any more Tron or Black Hole figures.

I still have no idea what's going on with Diamond UK, and neither does my comic shop.
Vampires Carmilla never arrived last month, and it looks as if Shudder isn't going to appear by the end of April either, so we're missing that as well. Warrant titles just aren't being distributed here by them anymore. We're not happy, and there's nothing at all to let us know what's happening.

The hits keep coming.

Diamond was not submitting the proper paperwork for Chapter 11 and may be forced into Chapter 7. They are also being sued by Alliance.

So there are two current scenarios with Diamond UK.

1. Diamond UK stays with Diamond.
2. Diamond UK goes back to Titan.

Whatever happens, I wish they would get it sorted asap. We're missing things, and it's unlikely that the missing comics from Warrant will start appearing again until this mess is resolved.

As part of the bankruptcy fillings Diamond had to release their retail contact list. Still kind of amazing that there were once 10,000+ comic shops in North America.

Wow...To put that in context, even though they're on the wane, I think most folks would still consider Best Buy a major retailer. As of 2025, there are just over 1200 Best Buy locations throughout North America. There are 4600 Walmarts.

Yes and the sad part is how easy it was to wipe out in less than 2 decades.

Weren't most of them lost when the Marvel-caused crash at the end of the nineties hit? It happened here in the UK as well, lots of comic shops went under when Marvel's then new owners ruined everything. I miss the glory days of the comic industry in the 90's, it was a second golden era to me. From Vertigo and MarvelUK, to the indie and small press stuff like Bone and Deadworld, it was a great time to be reading comics.

Yes the crash eliminated a good chunk of them.

Diamond Select Toys is no more, the entire department was laid off.

Layoffs in other departments also happened.

I guess that means the reissue Tron figures aren't happening then. That's disappointing, I was hoping to get a blue Flynn.

I did not think they would move this fast. Looks like the laid off the web team also.
