Assuming it is going to be OAR but at this point, nothing would surprise me

The Munsters is unfortunately not streaming in HD on Peacock in the United States or in any other territory. It’s the same old SD masters except with bonus motion smoothing and interlacing artifacts.

Source: I checked.

True, if it is cropped Widescreen I don't want it.

It better be OAR

IIRC it's on the Universal Monsters channel on Pluto TV in HD.

You can't miss the show either since it's what they mostly show on it anyway....

I've been slowly making my way through the series over the last couple years via Peacock (and now Prime) and it's been great. The HD masters look very nice for the most part.
How far have you got with the series now?

I'm still surprised that this Murder, She Wrote Blu-ray boxset is coming out so soon (late-May) with no specifications and extras details announced. I was interested in Plaion's Magnum boxset but have decided to pass on it.

In the news article posted on the website here a few days ago, a few guest stars were mentioned but none of the recurring actors (who played the same character), who I hope will be mentioned on sleeve boxart (for example, Tom Bosley, William Windom, Jerry Orbach, Len Cariou, Ron Masak, Michael Horton, Julie Adams, Keith Michell and Louis Herthum).

In addition to the four TV films (technically five if you count the pilot) and (I think) three two-parters, there is the two-part Magnum crossover and the extended backdoor pilot for the short-lived spin-off. Wondering if there will be four or five episodes per disc on the whole in this boxset.

4-5 episodes a disc sounds right.

I have the first six season's of "Murder, She Wrote" on Blu-Ray from France and bought the whole show in HD when it was on offer on iTunes for $29,99 a little while ago. The show looks great in HD.

I had never seen it before I got the Blu-Rays from France a few years ago. I've made my way through the six seasons's that were released on Blu-Ray, watched three more on Peacock and now season 10 on iTunes. The show has become a comfort to me. It relaxes me in a way few other shows can. Angela Lansbury is an absolut gem. I do have to say, that the show's quality dropped rather sharply after the first six or seven season's. It's stil enjoyable but not as good as those earlier season's.

I'm definitely going to but this new complete Blu-Ray-Set when it comes out. The french Blu-Ray are ok but the french subtitles have to be disabled for every episode, which is a tiny bit annoying.

Jessica Fletcher is a fantastic character and there's an episode that shows how clever she is more than any other episode: TRIAL BY ERROR is perfect and I find the TV movie THE LAST FREE MAN marvellous. I find MURDER TO A JAZZ BEAT, DEATH TAKES A CURTAIN CALL (the best Cabot Cove episode for me), TOUGH GUYS DON'T DIE, FUNERAL AT FIFTY-MILE, MURDER IN THE AFTERNOON, THE DAYS DWINDLE DOWN, THE SURVIVOR, MRS. PARKER'S REVENGE and the TV movie A STORY TO DIE FOR and also UNWILLING WITNESS among the best.

I always feel the first five seasons are the shows peak, seasons six and seven are a noticeable drop but mostly only because of the “book end” episodes. Season eight the quality picks up again due to them moving Jessica to New York so it opened up the show to newish types of stories and then with the last four seasons it’s all over the place quality wise.

I just checked Pluto...Don't Bank On Herman is on right now. The 720p stream is a very obvious SD upconversion.

Here's some screenshots of the 720p stream:

Just wanted to ask, do you think the episodes looked better on Apple TV than on the French BDs? I recently bought the whole series for $25 on Apple TV and I thought the quality was better than the French BDs which looked softer to me, making me think perhaps Universal remastered the series again I also got tired of switching the subs every episode, so I sold them online.

In any case, Day One for this new set!! Thanks Universal!!

I left off at Season 4 Ep 16. I've taken a break from the show to catch up on Marvel's Daredevil (and Punisher) to get to the new season of that series. I'm looking forward to resuming it though.

that is because they didn't know in time if the show would be renewed for season 8, that's why the last episode of season 7 has Jerry Orbach's character say "and that folks..... is all she wrote"
as it was originally intended as the series finale.

when the show was renewed for season 8, they changed the setting.
and in some episodes Angela Lansbury only did the prologue at the beginning, because she was getting older and worked too much,
so they did stand-alone episodes where someone else's story was told by Jessica, so Lansbury could have some more free time, which in the long run clearly helped.
you can absolutely devide this show into seasons 1-7 as Classic MSW,
and season 8-12 + the 4 tv movies as perhaps more of a reboot?

The Bookend-Episodes acutally started with season 6 (9 Episodes) and continued through season 7 (5 episodes). They stopped after that.

Going to check that out at somepoint in the next couple of days. Didn't even think of comparing the Blus to the stream. I just assumed there were the same transfers.

It wasn't until reading a news article about Lar Park Lincoln that I found out they guest-starred in an episode of the show that was partly filmed on the set of the Psycho house, "Incident in Lot 7" from the eighth season (I do remember reading about the episode but not who guest-starred in it. The episode originally aired in the States a few months after Lar Park Lincoln left Knots Landing).

Murder, She Wrote has been shown all the way through many times over here, and some of the episodes I watched were from that period where Dame Angela Lansbury only appeared briefly to introduce a friend of hers who worked on a murder case (can remember seeing episodes with Elliot Gould, Ken Howard and Keith Michell guest-starring (Michell played Dennis Stanton in several episodes).

Yes, they had already appeared in several episodes, but
[Show spoiler]it was sad to see Len Cariou in his last episode as Michael Haggerty (Season 9's "Sugar & Spice, Malice & Vice").
