I've definitely got it on my list to play but down the line. I just wish GTA V and the Mafia series shared a lot more of the same control scheme when Mafia 3 released tbh. Also completely agree about the glitches in the game at launch as i had the disc version. They were atrocious.

Playing Mafia II Definitive Edition. Not very definitve on console since there are still visual bugs here and there, audio cutouts and massive frame drops in cutscenes. But I kind of dig the unpolish. I know when they worked on the PS3 version 2K and Take Two were mismanaged and handled the game and it's release and the company horribly.

Mafia Definitive Edition is amazing and I think that's what Mafia Old Country is trying to achieve. That's why I plan on supporting Hanger 13 and getting it day one. It's only 1 of 3 games this year I plan on doing.

Mafia 2 PS4 in 1080p and better framerate in general, and looks much nicer than the jagged edges and lower polygons of Mafia 2 in 720p on PS3. Very nice on PS5 too for Mafia 2 Definitive.
Mafia 1 remake, nice game too. That should've gotten PS5 treatment as it released shortly before PS5's launch in 2020.

Same here, the Mafia games are fun games for the most part.

I enjoyed Mafia 2 a lot on PS3, but after finishing the story there's no free roaming unless you go back to a specific mission then you can drive around. Still haven't played Mafia 1 Remake really want, though.

Mafia Remake, very good. I completed it from the disc, despite some bugs in the cutscenes. Nice graphics too. Plus it adds motorcycles.

Mafia Old Country will add horses.

If you liked the 2nd, you'll like the 1st one. But play the remake.

I will say though that that racing mission is trash.

That race car in the track was a tough race with the time limit. Had to try a few times to get it. They did a nice job on the map and I liked the countryside too.

The improved gun combat was good also. They also do well with the atmosphere of the city, sound effects, and graphics.

This new one in only a few months in August. A nice surprise.

I've been playing Mafia 1 Remake on my hacked PS4 Pro and you know what, the 30fps was bothering me so much (it felt so slow and sluggish) that I ended up using a tool to force the game to run at 60fps. Much better now!

Anyway, I agree the race mission was a bit of a chore although I liked it
It reminded me of a Dreamcast game...

Developers should really aim to make their games run at 60fps, 30fps isn't really a great option anymore not even for a "cinematic" experience.

Consistent 30 fps I can still handle no problem, but 60 fps smooths things out really nicely and most times in polygon games, is preferred.

For 2D games though, 30 fps works without issues most times.

With Mafia Remake, that's 30 fps on PS4, but plays fine IMO along with Mafia 2 remaster and Mafia 3.

Mafia 3, that's the closest game to Driver 1 since the muscle cars of Driver Parallel Lines.
